Even Browning, Excellent Heat Retention, Sturdy Cast Iron Construction, Pre-Seasoned
The GoodCook Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Dutch Oven is a durable addition to any kitchen. Doutch ovens are famous for their versatility, large capacity and ability to maintain even heat. With a 5-quart capacity, this full-sized pot is perfect for making family-sized portions of stews, soups, and even baking bread. We make a great beef stew with the pan’s capability to brown evenly throughout, yet the handle stays cool enough to touch without needing a potholder., Tough cast iron construction means excellent heat retention and distribution, superior to other materials used in other Dutch ovens, IMO.This Dutch oven comes with a pre-seasoned coating, resisting rust and allows for quick, easy meals, making it ideal for both home use and camping. You can use this pan in the oven too, at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, making dinner prep easier.GoodCook's lifetime satisfaction guarantee accompanies this product. It’s pretty much bullet proof! After all, not much can go wrong with cast iron cookware!Overall, the GoodCook Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Dutch Oven is a multifunctional kitchen tool that promises to deliver great cooking results for a long time to come.

Heavy and durable, it can be cooked or fried or stewed
The cast iron Dutch oven is well cast and relatively delicate, and is cast as a whole. The screws on the lid should be stainless steel, which causes defects.I really like the shape of this cast iron Dutch oven. The depth and size are what I want. It is heavy and has weight. The lid is also very beautiful. I like it very much. The pot is very thick and has a full texture. It is very convenient to stew soup and porridge. It has strong heat storage capacity. The overall workmanship and material are first-class. The pot shape is good, and it can be steamed, boiled, fried and stir-fried. It is very convenient. The quality is also very good. I am very satisfied!

Not a bad dutch oven
I made a pot roast (ended up being more like beef stew) to test out this dutch oven and it performed exactly as I expected it to - very well. The seasoning it came with was good, my roast didn't stick when I seared it before cooking and didn't come off when washing after. The drip points on the lid are great for keeping your food evenly moistened throughout cooking. If I had to nitpick I would say that the handles seem a little thin, and while I had no issues after one use, they worry me a little bit when lifting the thing when its full. I also don't love that the handle on the lid is attached by a bolt rather than a single cast piece. The only other thing I could say is that you really only save $8 buying this Chinese product versus buying an American made one by Lodge. Your opinion may be different but to me an extra $8 to back a US company manufacturing in the US is a no brainer.

Bakes bread nicely . . .
I bake a lot of sourdough bread and was wanting another Dutch Oven to bake two at a time. This one is a bit lighter than my other Dutch Oven, but it baked my sourdough bread nicely. (Pictures -- Before the sourdough goes into the oven & then after it baked.)

5 QT cast iron Dutch Oven
Beautifully made in consistent thickness cast iron where the heat will transfer evenly throughout, NICE!The lid sits perfectly flat on the rim, has the flavor drip points on the reverse side and the handle is cast too although it is attached by a bolt from underneath.Unlike the Lid, the pot has the poured built-in cast side grab handles that make handling easier, Excellent!Comes pre-seasoned and is ready to cook.Nice 12 inch bottom 5 Quart capacity that can do up many meals and made well too makes this a value deal for the money!

Nice dutch oven but be careful
I unboxed it and sat it on the counter. I cleaned it and reseasoned. I sat it on the stove for a bit and my wife was a bit upset. The dutch oven left a few scratch marks on the counter. I flipped it over and noticed that the bottom had a raised circular area for some reason. As my cooktop is glass, I have to avoid using it there and make sure I sit the dutch oven on a mat if sitting it on the counter or stove. It's not wide enough for me to do a pot roast the way I normally do but it's still a nice dutch oven.

Nice High Quality Dutch Oven
I got this a smaller Dutch oven to use sparingly. I mainly intend to use it when camping. I like that it's cast iron and can hold up to quite a lot. My other Dutch oven is ceramic and 6.5 quarts, so I'll use that most of the time indoors. Overall, this is high quality and well made. I think it's a good value and really appreciate that it's pre-seasoned considering I won't be using it a ton to build up the seasoning initially. Highly Recommend.
