Kala, 4-String Ukulele, Right, Natural, Tenor (KA-Courage-T_W/Bag)

I own 8 ukuleles and wanted something that was etched. This is very nice and very playable. Looks great on my wall and in my hands when I play with my group!! I put Aquila red strings on it with low G and it sounds great. Very happy with purchase. Kala is a great reliable company.

I found this ukulele very pleasing to the eye with the Māori graphics, and very easy to play. It has good tone and intonation, good sustain, and good projection. It is well set up. The construction appears to be excellent (as one would expect with the Kala brand) and the wood is very nice mahogany laminate top, bottom and sides.Though I am a novice ukulele player, I have played and owned numerous stringed instruments for over 60 years, including guitars, a banjo, mandolins, a dulcimer, and a violin. (I wish I would have started with the ukulele, and learned so much more early on that would have helped with all the others.)Due to the entry level price point, and the overall quality, I would think this would be a great uke for the beginner or intermediate player. I am very pleased with this product.

The tattoo design on this Kala ukele is beautiful.This is my 3rd uke,an upgrade.I had purchased an Enya tenor but sent it back due to poor sound quality.Brought this one to a music shop had them check the tuners and switch strings out before breaking it in.It has beautiful sound, a little deeper than my concert uke.Frets smooth although I had to gently file the edge of first fret corner.Actually just used a nail file ,the sharp edge corner was hitting my hand at the base of my pointer with different chords.This uke is really light to carry.Also bought a different case,the one it came with has a thin padding ,I felt it didn't provide enough protection to the neck to bring in the car for gigs etc...It came with a card explaining the meaning of the tattoo design which will make a nice conversation when hanging out with my friends when playing.

This was a gift for my sister-in-law that was well received. Difficulty tuning the C string and we didn’t have a tuner. Looked at several youtube sessions and finally got it tuned. A tuner would have been helpful with this purchase. Sweet sounding instrument.

I love this Ukulele so much!! It’s like having a piece of art to play, it’s great for beginners, pros, and everyone in between. Beautiful detail and sound for the price and absolutely amazing message that came with it that explains the details on the uke. HIGHLY recommend!🌺

I bought the Kala, 4-String Ukulele, Right, Natural, Tenor (KA-Courage-T_W/Bag) for my grand daughter and she was thoroughly excited and appreciative. She loves it.

Ordered as a gift for my daughter after having played an alto uke for several years. She’ll probably change out the strings as a matter of preference, but this uke sounded great on delivery.

Este Ukelele concierto tiene un sonido precioso , y lo mejor para mí es el diseño que lo hace único. Al verlo físicamente es mucho más bello de lo que se puede ver en las fotos. Viene también con una explicación del simbolismo que le da el artista. Todo esto hace de este ukelele un producto especial y con una personalidad específica.

It's a decent piece. Requires frequent tuning initially but after a week or so, it stays in tune for a longer duration. The tuner app works well. Overall, a good product for beginners and amateur players.

ギターは長年弾いてますが60歳手前で初めてのウクレレです。コードがギターと全く違って戸惑ってます。しかもネックが細くてコードを押さえるのに苦労してます。

すでにソプラノサイズ（FS-8LNコア合板）を所有。Lo－G弦用にコンサートサイズで、予算的に中国製造で品質の良い物を物色。信頼できるブランドとして、ミニギターが良かった「S.yairi」か、米国で最も売れているらしい「KALA」に絞る。最終的にマオリの彫刻デザインと合板だがマホガニー材に惹かれ、「KALA」のこのモデルを選択。サウンドはコンサートサイズのためか、FS-8LNに比べ深みがあり、材またはアキーラ弦のせいか、甘い音がして自分好みで満足している。弦高は2.5ｍｍに調整され（FSは3.0ｍｍ）、フレット間も広いので押弦が楽でFSより弾きやすい。サドルはストレート形状で、12Fピッチは１と４弦がやや＃だが精度は良さそう。フレット両端の仕上げ処理はFSに比べるとやはり雑。指にかかるのでヤスリで削る。作りや仕上げはやはり国内産のFSにはかなわないが、サウンドや弾きやすさピッチ精度などコスパは良い。それに、マオリ彫刻デザインは素晴らしく気に入っている。ただ、通販ゆえに購入してから分かったことだが、ライニング材（トップとバック板をサイド板に貼り合わせる角に使う補強材）がない？ライニング材は貼り合わせのノリ代とトップ板の響きを箱に伝える役目があり、一般的に使用されているものと考えていたので驚いた。所有しているクラシックギターやSヤイリのミニギター、FSウクレレにはちゃんと使用されているので、ないのを見てビックリ。ライニング材がないと、サイド板の厚みだけのノリ代で貼り合わせられている状態。トップ板がハガレてきたりしないのか？耐久性に不安を感じたので、輸入代理店（キョーリツコーポ）に問い合わせたところ・・・ちなみに、キョーリツコーポの「KALA」サイトでは、「どの価格帯のモデルも長年愛用できる耐久性を備えており」と謳っていて、これを確認しての「KALA」選択だったこともあり・・・米国KALAからの回答「このシリーズ（KA－15がオリジナル）がライニング材を採用していないのは、トップ板からサイド板に伝わった音の振動をさらにバック板へ効率良く伝えるため、サイド板の厚みを従来よりも増して音の振動の伝わりを良くすることを目的とした仕様のため」だそうです。要するに、ライニング材のノリ代をサイド板の厚みを増すことで確保し、ライニング材を省いて音鳴りも良くする設計ということらしい。もちろんコストダウンも兼ねての事だと思うが・・・耐久性については、「メーカーで強度テスト済で、これまでハガレなどのトラブルは確認されてない」とのことでいた。どんなテストをしているか分かれば、もっと安心したんですが、不明です。まあ、これを信じるしかありませんが、日本はKALA所在地のサンフランシスコに比べ高温多湿。日本ではこれからどうなるのか？気に入っているので、人柱になったつもりで大切に可愛がってやりたいと思っています。なお、いろいろ調べたところ、ライニング材を採用していないウクレレもあるようです。有名なところで「KoAloha」「Martin」ですが、「KoAloha」は独自の四角枠形状の力木（ブレージング）を採用して、強度と音鳴りを高い次元で確保しているようです。「Martin」は、メキシコで製造しているモデルは採用してないようですが、本国製造モデルは採用しているようです。なお、「KALA」ではオール単板モデルが、ライニング材採用モデルとのことです。心配な方は購入前に「キョーリツコーポ」に問い合わせるか、楽器店で希望モデルがあれば確認ですね。
