Delightful feel good story Katie Fford is not losing her touch
Be whisked away to a tropical island, unrequited love and supporting a community in trouble after a hurricane passes through. What else can you do but help

Not quite so good as usual
I found this novel less successful. Cassie was a very naive heroine who basically irritated me and I didn’t warm to her. Couldn’t understand why it took so long for her to learn the truth about Ran’s feelings. As someone almost 80 to me she seemed less aware than the average Austin heroine! Dominica was clearly loved by the author and the place was believable but I’m not sure any of the characters were particularly Austin who I couldn’t see any modern group putting up with. It was curiously old fashioned- even the names were odd.

The book to lose yourself in
The story draws you in and you are on the island with Cass. I imagined the scenery and the feel of the place . It is a book to lose yourself in especially if it is raining outside .

this one was not for me
I love the work of Katie Fforde, but this one somehow did not do it for me. Why? I am not realy sure, but after a few chapters a skipped to the end and ended it. This one could not capture my imagination. Looking forward to the next one.

So sorry I purchased this.
I am a big Katie Fforde fan and always buy her books, Couldn't wait for this one to come out but was so disappointed. The heroine was not likeable and though the setting was beautiful it was a boring predictable story and I ended up reading the first third and then the last couple of chapters.

Such a nice setting
Katie Fforde does it again. She paints a nice story in a setting hardly any people are familiar with. It is explained how she comes by the information.

Message was “it’s ok to accept violent controlling behaviour from a man”
I have long been a Fforde fan - but this book was incredibly disappointing, not because of the story or writing which was good as always, but the message about women tolerating unacceptable behaviour from men. The character Austin was violent, controlling and mysoginistic. His repeated assaults, coercive control and disrespect to the main character were dismissed as being bad behaviour and were accepted, rather than being reported to police or even challenged. With women being killed every day by men - this messaging from Fforde is not ok.Please do another book and fix this. Please do another edition of this book and rectify. Give power back to women

Don't bother.
Wow!!! This is NOT the usual Katie Fforde I can't put it down read. The characters were weak and not at all likeable. The location was unappealing. The storyline was just odd and lame. Could not bring myself to finish it. Complete waste of time and money. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed every other Katie Fforde book ever published and they are all 5 star...but not this one.
