Spectacular 4K Projection
I purchased the JMGO N1 Ultra in its Kickstarter phase at a heavy discount, and at that price point, I could not be happier with its performance, brightness, and picture quality! The picture is extremely crisp with incredible HDR coloration (I would go so far as to say near-cinema quality), the in-unit audio fidelity is impressive for its size, and the Android TV 11 OS is snappy and fully inclusive of all major apps and VOD platforms (including Netflix through a 5-minute sideloading process). While the menu structure takes some getting used to and the hardware can be slightly buggy at times (surely to be fixed in future firmware updates), it's overall an outstanding piece of home cinema technology. It's premium build, silky-smooth gimble, and discreet inputs round out an A+ package. The suggested retail price may be quite high, but if you can afford it (or purchase one at a discount as I have), you are sure to be blown away by its picture quality and very satisfied with the overall value.

Great projector with a sharp and vivid picture
The media could not be loaded. Pros:+ Sharp picture and vibrant bright colors+ Automatic picture adjustment+ Android tv built in+ ALLM and 120hz@1080p for gamingCons:- controller has no backlight- no Dolby vision support- no Dolby Atmos support- android tv built in doesn't support NetflixI have been using this projector for a few weeks now and I can confidently say it's the best I have used so far. The picture is bright and sharp and it works great for gaming. There are two mount holes underneath the projector if you want to use a Ceiling mount. The auto adjustment is awesome as it removes much of the trouble with getting the picture right when mounting the projector.Regarding inputs, it has two HDMI ports, one supports earc so you can use it to send audio to your audio device of choice. I used a wisa soundsend transmitter so I could avoid the hassle of running more cable across the ceiling. The projector supports ALLM so it switches to game mode automatically for Playstation and xbox. It also supports 120hz at 1080p, though I struggle to see the difference between that and 60 Hz at times. There is no VRR support, but it's pretty rare to find console games that support that feature anyway so I'm not missing much there. The UI and interface is also one of the best I've seen as the projector utilizes Android tv for a seamless app experience. Only issue is that I can't add the Netflix app on it, though it's not a big deal since that app is available on my ps5 and Nvidia shield that I have connected to the n1 ultra via HDMI switch. The interface is definitely better than most of the generic UIs I've experienced from other projectors I've owned. There are plenty of picture options for adjusting the projector but it takes some playing with in order to figure out what they all do since there is no explanation. My personal favorite is vivid, strong adaptive luma control, bright gamma, strong local contrast control, and memc set to high. I really didn't notice a difference in the mpeg nr setting so I just left that off.For a first gen product it truly is phenomenal, but there's plenty of room for improvement. For starters, any display at this price point should come with a backlit controller. It's a little difficult trying to use it in the dark and I don't see how adding a couple of LEDs to the remote would have complicated the design or cost at this price point.Another improvement would be the addition of Dolby vision. It's still pretty rare to see this in projectors, but some short throws from hisense and formovie support Dolby vision now. it would be awesome to see the n1 ultra get a similar treatment with a software update like the hisense short throw line of projectors did.Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. If you're on the fence departing on getting the n1 ultra, I highly recommend picking one up. However be warned, once you get used to the picture, it's very difficult going back to anything else. There's nothing quite like enjoying your favorite shows and games on a bigger than life screen in the comfort of your own home. 😎Edit 2023/10:I had to revise my rating from a 5 to a 3 because of an issue with Atmos support. I initially thought that it was my set up that prevented the Atmos from working. however, I took my SoundSend puck that connects to my wireless speakers and plug it into a cheap $300 tv and I was able to get Atmos sound on my speakers from that. So this tells me that this projector does not support any Atmos. which is a fairly big letdown considering this projectors price tag and that other projectors in this range have Atmos and Dolby vision. It's strange since my shield tv device shows that this set up with the projector should support Atmos, but there is never any sound unless I switched audio to 5.1 or pcm. It would be nice to have an update that adds this and Dolby vision in the future but I’m not holding my breath.Edit 2024/06:I raised my rating to 5 stars because of the support I have received. They weren't able to add Dolby vision or Atmos but they did everything they could to ensure I would be content. I decided to return the unit so I could find something else with Dolby vision and Atmos but the support I received is among the best I've experienced on Amazon.

Overall convenience, portability, and exceptional performance make it a worthwhile investment
I had high expectations for a projector: it needed to be bright enough for clear visibility in well-lit environments, display vibrant colors in low-light environment, be portable for versatile use in the living room or bedroom, deliver excellent performance even without a screen, and come with minimal accessories while featuring automatic focus to minimize installation hassle. With these criteria in mind, I explored several popular options in the market, including the XGIMI Horizon Pro and Dangbei Mars Pro 4K Projector. After careful consideration, I chose the JMGO N1 Ultra, despite its higher price. I can confidently say that it has proven to be worth every penny, providing a convenient and enjoyable experience with each use.The JMGO N1 Ultra effortlessly met all my expectations. It requires no additional accessories, and I can simply place it on an Ikea cart. The stand allows for angle adjustments, eliminating the need for extra supports. Its portability is a standout feature, as I can easily move it from room to room and set it up in less than 2 minutes. The viewing experience is impressive, with the projector delivering excellent results even without a dedicated screen. The vibrant colors and clarity, particularly during scenes like the dazzling underwater sequences in Avatar 2, leave me thoroughly satisfied with my purchase. While the JMGO N1 Ultra comes with a higher price point, the overall convenience, portability, and exceptional performance make it a worthwhile investment. Each movie night feels like a true cinematic experience, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Best I've Seen
I am no expert where projectors are concerned but I do have a very discerning eye, which is why buying exceptional equipment is important to me. I only buy OLED televisions, for instance. I haven't seen a lot of projectors but, of the ones I've seen in bowling alleys or stores or friend's houses, this N1 Ultra has by far by far the most vivid and punchiest picture. The colors really are gorgeous. Make sure you turn off the cool setting on the color temperature. You really appreciate the scenery and wild life and fashion in the movies you watch with this projector. Being used to OLED televisions, the contrast ratio was an important factor to me in choosing a projector, and I felt this one didn't disappoint in that area. In fact, water watching several dark scenes in several movies, the contrast ratio is better, in my opinion, than what the expert reviewers' tech ratings suggest. I also noticed plenty of detail and clarity. I didn't think the picture was at all blurry or pixelated even at a close distance which is amazing. It looked very high definition from all angles and distances. Definitely turn off the cinematic effect when you use it though, as it causes a lot of distortion, especially in fast moving scenes. Unfortunately you need to turn the setting off several times as any adjustments in other areas automatically turns the cinematic effect back on. It would be nice if JMGO did an update to fix this annoyance, but it is no deal breaker. Some expert reviewers complained of speckle. I tried to find it but failed. Possibly because I'm not an expert or possibly because it didn't exist with the equipment and setting I used. I used a matte white 1.1 gain screen. So speckle is not a problem for me with this projector so far. I was disappointed I couldn't see the picture with more light in the room since I read that it is one of the brightest projectors out there in this price range, but I'm not sure if any projector in this price range could do better. I really don't have enough experience with projectors to make that call. It doesn't have to be totally dark to get a good quality and colorful picture, but it needs to be dim so I won't be watching football and basketball outside with friends until past sundown unfortunately. My only reservation is that I do wish the refresh rate were faster. Most people won't notice a difference but if you are very discerning you may long for a faster refresh rate as I do. Also, if you are at all all audiophile, I can't see you being impressed by the speakers as many reviewers are saying. The speakers are decent enough for kids to watch movies with. They do sound nice, and I'm sure they are better than most crappy projectors, but anyone who cares about sound will need another audio source. They also aren't going to be loud enough for an outdoor movie situation. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and have been playing with me projector everyday since I got it. It's been really fun watching movies with the kids and trying out the 3D. Feels like a theater at home. It really does.
