Fantastic unit
I have several Neewer photography/videography items and I am always impressed by the quality and value for money. This is no different. Good price and a good unit.I had a different lighting unit from this brand for my hobby of videography and photography. This previous unit works well but needed something a little more versatile. This lighting set has a game changing element: the ability to change colours. This was a bit hard to use at first but more on a creative way than the unit itself but it really can change the way something comes across and has allowed for some really fun visuals.Thr unit itself is super easy to set up and nowhere near as bulky as I expected. It allows for plenty of customisation so you can achieve whatever effect you desire (intensity, brightness, colour...).Great unit. I only use this as part part a hobby so I don't know how it compares compares professional stuff but I would personally recommend it.

Led panel
Nice LED panel.Well-made.Instructions could be better.Functional and relatively easy to use.Light is consistent and variable in several ways.No stand is included, which seems a bit cheap at this price level.

Bright, consistent colour, cool, quiet, easy to control panel light
The NEEWER PL60C is a barndoor equipped 28 x 20cm high CRI LED panel light. It ships with a carry case and mains power adaptor. You can power it with batteries with a suitable connecting wire. (The connection is 4 pins round connection – similar in size to a DMX connector with the middle pin missing.) That DMX port means you can connect and control the light remotely from a video board; I haven’t seen that on a led panel light before. If you aren’t in a studio or theatre; you can control the light via the back panel which has a nice sized oled screen to see what’s going on. It’s also controllable via the windows and mobile apps. The neewer app is easy to use; and makes it easy to sync settings between lights. The light has a standard pin mount. This is attached to a u frame that allows you to angle the light through about 345 degrees. The supplied power cable is about 3m long. There That DMX a like connector is metal and has a retaining pin to keep it connected if you are moving it about. The barndoors are nice and stiff. If you don’t want them, you need to use a screwdriver to twist them off the retaining clips. Unless you have nails of steel. The light itself is excellent and has new prismatic style of diffuser on it; this seems to be very effective and doesn’t dim the panel as much as a gel or rubber diffuser do. The panel has Warm and cool leds along with an RGB. The brightness across the panel is even with no visible hot or cold spots; and according to my camera it has pushed out the same light for the last 5 hours consistently. During that time the fan hasn’t become audible to my ear (though the room I’m filming in is currently 18c which helps.)Not having a light desk, I have been using the app as my main way to control the panel. The app makes it easy to adjust the brightness and colour temperature of the light. You can also sync settings between lights and save settings for quick reuse. It also has quick access to the excellent gels module. The light has preconfigured settings to replicate Lee and Rosco light gels. It’s not a comprehensive list; there are 20 under lee filters for example. They do a good job though. Besides the gels, there are HIS, RBP and various white settings. If you need flickering effects, there are numerous pre-sets that you can adjust the intensity and frequency; and if you do use those effects let me know what for. It’s a very good light; each year Neewer seem to make huge strides with the features on their studio lights. It keeps their low / no flicker even on 120fps videos. The brightness and consistency of colour / temperature in long use is a boon. Adding pre-programmed gels and light desk support will make adding it to your theatre and studio a lot easier. Thanks to the quiet fans it runs cool so when you are done it’s easy to break down and transport out without waiting. Its bright – 23,000 lux at ½ a meter will get rid of all the shadows you can create – though the barndoors will let you put some back where you want them. It’s also low power; with my power monitor plug showing it running at 45 watts at 60% output and peaking at 60 when I left it running for hours.
