This product comes with a lot of packaging that seems a bit over the top, lots of cellophane and moulded plastic as if it's something you are likely to put away in the box after each use when, more probably, you are going to want to leave it out on your dressing table.Having said this, since it's not exactly cheap given how easy it is to waste by spillage, you might find yourself saving it only for use on special occasions e.g. for wedding photos, as it's quite a lot of faff to use. So, maybe you will want to put it back in the packaging and then put the box in the bottom of your wardrobe for 6 months. The instructions aren't great. I had to find out for myself that the top of the hair powder container comes off (and must be taken off) to use the fine-direction nozzle. There were some tips on how best to use it but I was so eager to try it out that I didn't bother to read them so I discovered for myself the difficulties that might have been included in these tips (I'd go and check right now for this review but it's all packed away). Anyway, what I learned is that the 'hair' powder is very fine and is easy to get everywhere. I applied it to my hair in my bathroom over the sink and discovered afterwards that the sink and the shelf above it had to be wiped clear of millions of tiny specks of dark brown powder - that turns like brown paint with the least drop of water. It's easy to get this powder on yourself in places you don't want it e.g. on your hands and arms. It's also VERY difficult to apply to your own bald spot on the back of your head from your reflection in the mirror. For one, you have to look down to get the bald spot level so that the powdered 'hair' can be sprinkled onto it and not down the back of your head. I found myself using the fine-area applicator when the instructions recommended that larger areas should be done without it.The dark brown is very dark, a touch too dark for me. This means that it's no good if you also dye your hair to disguise any grey and it's beginning to grow out (as was the case with me). I found myself having to apply the dust into parts of my hair that weren't dark enough to match the powdered hair. I also used the uneven comb that is designed to enable the user to give themselves a lower hairline. IF this is applied expertly it gives results that are certainly good enough for a photograph but which are unlikely to convince anyone up close - IF they are very observant or are specifically looking for it. Casual observers will not notice anything but good hair. However, expert application is not going to happen without a lot of practice and time so don't think you can buy this for a quick fix unless you have someone doing it for you. Also, a date running their fingers through your hair is likely to suspect something is amiss as they will get slight discolouration on their skin. I did use the fixative spray and this proved to be good against a little sweat from some heavy gardening I did afterwards and although the product is supposed to be rain-proof I'd prefer not to risk it. With the fixative spray on, your hair feels just like it has some hairspray on it (probably because that's precisely what it is). It does have a lovely fragrance though, like you've had some expensive treatment in a salon.Overall, I think this is good stuff but at the price I wouldn't use it as a daily thing.
