RC Protective Sun Hood Cover with Screen Protector & Neck Lanyard for DJI Mini 3 / Mini 3 Pro/RC Controller Accessories

Great keeps my screen protected

I still own an AIR 2S drone. I just purchased the DJI RC (1) controller as an upgrade recently. As this controller has a 5.5" HD screen built in (700 nits brightness), I wanted to protect it. This is the first cover/sun hood I found with a good number of decent reviews.The kit includes:• 1x Plastic cover/hood.• 2x Rear mounting alloy thumb screws for cover/hood controller brace.• 1x Hex screwdriver (for tightening the primary hinge bolt on the cover/hood).• 1x Two-point black nylon lanyard with alloy clips.• 2x Bottom mounting lanyard alloy thumbscrews w/ nylon washers & clip rings (for lanyard use).• 3x Tempered glass style screen protectors (glossy).• 3x Cleaning/application kit for the screen protectors (wet wipe, microfiber type drying cloth, application assistance & dust removal sticker sheet).It was very easy to apply the cover/hood to the controller. The cover/hood slides over the top of the controller and is secured using the two thumbscrews inserted into the two built-in threaded holes on the lower back of the controller (no screwdriver needed).The primary hinge is now at the top of the controller and uses the small included hex tool to tighten the hinge to your desired stiffness. The hinge is simply a long threaded bolt inserted through small plastic interlaced rings with a simple nut on the opposite end. Don't go crazy over tightening it as you may crack the plastic. I got mine snug enough that it sits where I want it without flopping while using the controller. (** see the very bottom of this review for more info on the hinge).The lanyard and lanyard thumbscrews are for optional use. The lanyard thumbscrews insert into the built-in threaded holes on the bottom of the controller (no screwdriver needed). This allows you to connect/disconnect the lanyard with ease.Finally, you can clean the screen and apply a screen protector with the included cleaning and application accessories. The screen protector will help prevent scratches and mars from both regular use and the underside of the cover/hood when it's closed. I only state the latter as there is a small flip out hinge on the underside of the cover/hood (used as optional sunlight protection) which could possibly be touching the screen when it is closed.The cover/hood is designed to allow you to keep the joysticks on the controller when it is closed to protect them from damage during transport/storage.Overall, I think it is a good kit for the price.** Something to note: I've seen other reviewers talk about not being able to snug the hood hinge enough to keep it from flopping while in use. If you find that you can't get the primary hood hinge snug enough, maybe taking the hinge nut and bolt out and slightly sanding between the hinge rings to create a little more friction might help. The plastic may be too smooth/slippery and that's why tightening the nut may not prevent the hood from moving while using it. I will try to post an update if I encounter this problem myself and if this actually helped or what my possible solution might end up being.

The Sun Hood does nothing for reducing the glare on my DJI mini 3 controller screen. It does help a little to shield from direct sunlight. The protective cover and the lanyard alone are worth the purchase.

Very nice. Easy to install. You can leave your joysticks on so as to avoid wearing out the tiny threads. I just can’t use the really nice padded neck strap now since it uses the same attachment points as this does. It is big but it does still fit into the hard case.

Right to the point: Hinges dont feel great, would be suprised if it lasts.It does fit tho but you do have to lift the cover from the corners.Screen protectors are what you'd expect, works fine and I highly recommend getting them for DJI RC.lanyard strap thingie is fine too, comfortable and easily adjustable. Dont go swinging the thing around or running/jumping with it. Bit its fine.Sun shading is meh, def needs side covers or something, it works tho. RC is usable in direct sunlight.Box it came in was flimsy and crushed but product seems to be intact. perhaps order as a gift maybe it'll be safer.

Fits great

I like the idea and it could have been a good design however within 2 uses the screw tensioning the cover so that it would stay up wore out and would only stay up if you held it. As a drone pilot you really do not need to have to control something else with your hands and having it fall on your hands mid shot is not an option. Easy to put on and was the correct size but the quality was not good.

Purchased for my DJI Mini 3 having zero complaints. Very good build quality, light weight, works exactly as described, and it is compatible with my hard-shell case so removal is not required. Installed one of the three screen protectors as well, after a bit of finagling we had a perfectly fitted bubble-free install. Suffice to say, I am quite pleased with this little piece of kit!
