Easy to use for large areas
I needed to protect my young maple tree because a buck had used it as a scratching post for his antlers. He exposed a 4 foot by 3 inch section of heartwood. I left it alone for a year, hoping the tree would overgrow the area, but it didn’t. I had to dig out a few insect pupae so I went ‘old shool’ like my dad taught me 40 years ago. I painted the exposed heartwood with tar. I had both a can with a brush and this aerosol can, so I tried the spray. FANTASTIC ! A lot easier than using the little brush (meant for covering the stump left by branch pruning.)After ‘painting’ the exposed heartwood I wrapped it with weatherproof paper tree wrap. The tree is doing great and I’m a happy camper. 😊

Works great!
Color is closer to black than brown.I coated all the lower stems and the ants have lost interest in climbing up and the others insects are now leaving the Holly bush alone.

Important Product for Prining Roses
This is labeled as a tree pruning product, but you really need a product like this when you prune your roses. I always seal the larger cuts on my rose branches, so that bores cannot eat into and down through the stems and ruin the branches of the rose. I love this product, except that it’s hard to press the button sometimes and the nozzle can get a little plugged, and the black spray can go, not precisely where you’re trying to aim it. I wish they could do better with the Container. But I love the product. Thanks for having it, by the way, because I used to be able to find it in nurseries, but no longer.

Sealed damaged trunk of oak tre
Spray comes out sort of like spray paint. It applies a thin coating. My oak tree has a lot of insect damage. I cleaned that out and sealed with this product. It was easy to use and covered damage. Product is clearly marked as a sealer for pruning. Obviously this is not pruning. Has to be better than rotted wood and ant infestation. Tree is still doing ok. I would buy again to be used as intended.

Saved my mango tree
I was desperate to repair several large areas on the bark of my huge mango tree that someone hacked away at. I thought the tree was absolutely going to die. I came across this product by accident and was phenomenally amazed. It was applied a few months back, and the tree is continuing to thrive.I opted for the aerosol over the paint-like version that has to be brushed on, and it applied very consistently. It’s very important to shake the can well before using and you are the proper distance away from the trunk. Apply the sealer on a day where rain is not forecasted and well after the morning dew is dried up for maximum adhesion. The cans are pretty small, so you might want to consider purchasing two. I found that applying it twice, 24 hours apart, gave the best results. I can’t stress this enough, WEAR DISPOSABLE GLOVES, or your hands will be black for a few days.My only complaint is the color. The black color gives the appearance that the tree was burnt. Brown would be a far better option, if possible. However, given the choice of color vs losing the tree, I will take the black color any day.Highly recommended!

Saved Several Trees
Read the back and forth on damaged trees and the use of pruning spray to assist.I have several Arborvitae cultivars, mainly in screens. After a clean up attempt by a helpful friend for some weed overgrowth the weedeater damage was quite extensive. This was about 2 months ago now and I immediately treated damaged bark, in some cases nearly all around the trunk with this product. While they might have survived without this product I would rather think their continued growth is due to it as I have other trees I have hit with equipment where trunk damage did cause death of the plant. Overall I hit about 100 small trees (2-3' tall) with a single can. Basically this is more of the can it hurt to have on hand and help out a small tree versus losing it?

Easy to use
I needed something to stop my tree from bleeding onto my sidewalk. I tried the spray and it was a big mess. This stuff allows you to control the amount and it didn’t leak. It sealed up my tree cuts so no more leaking sap all over.

Help Heal the Wound
When trimming a tree each cut is a "wound." Pruning sealer closes off the "bleed" and protects the tree from insects who love to eat sap and/or dig a home inside.
