I have two web cams on my system and was looking to find a way to keep the cameras from sliding around on my desk. I happen to have all metal monitor stands and the bases of the monitors are also made of a ferrous metal. This little magnetic stand easily and securely hold the web cams in place. I believe it would work great with most of the action cams as well. I prefer my web cams to be below the monitor rather than above. It looks like I'm stairing at the ceiling when the cameras are on top. It may work for larger cameras but I'd want something that was rated to hold a much heavier camera.

This is a very strong magnet mount for a work light. But it is also great for cameras in outdoor locations. It just doesn't have the tightening nut against the camera screw-in receptacle. Works great for me & very strong. Seems durable in weather.

I was surprised at how strong the magnet was on this. Way strong enough to hold a gopro or any kind of point-and-shoot camera. Might be strong enough for a full size camera with a small lens. The threaded stud is short though and if you need 90 degree mounting you'd have to use some other extender to put a larger device on it.

Could not even hold up a 15 lbs speaker either the thread facing horizontal and vertical. As soon as I would let go, it would start sliding off or even come off.

Mount is versatile, and strong. Very strong.
