I have already read the book long time back.I felt that I can revisit that!The book is printed in nice way with good quality paper and reasonably priced!I like the book and will order more books

Good but a little slow in today's context

Very slow first half.. 2nd half is much better. Gives a good insight about how the automobile industry works. Enjoy!

It's a good book to understand the life in an auto industry.. But I was expecting some suspense or drama... Was missing that

A lovely book. Re acquainting myself with it after nearly 40 years. The book seemed like science fiction then. And it just comes across as extremely far sighted now. No one, least of all Hailey or any of the fictional characters in this book could even have predicted the reality of the 2020’s….but just read this book and you will realise that Harley was uncannily correct in his predictions and postulates of the future and the theme and storyline and facts written in this book, although written in the early 1970’s is perfectly relevant even 50 years later….

Great book for Detroit people.Easy read.

Anyone who reads this book by Arthur Hailey will learn a great amount about the automotive industry, mostly behind the scenes. The carrying ons in the boardroom and also on the assembly line, the shenanigans all around the plants, and also the different crimes in the plant, outside the plant, and how it affects the lives of all concerned. Depressing at times, and enlightening at others, a Great read none the less.

Even if you (like me) have no interest in the automotive industry, I can recommend this book. Like all of Hailey's work, it interweaves different stories into a whole, each of them compulsive reading.It also provides a fascinating insight into the social and workplace mores of the time when it was written.

米国の大自動車メーカーをとりまく幹部経営者、工場業従業員やその取引業者らの人生模様を描いた、事実とフィクションのミックスブレンド物語である。著者がこの創作の過程において、事実の取材にいったいどれほど膨大な精力・知力を費やしたであろうか？読者はぎっしり詰め込まれた情報量に圧倒させられながら、自動車業界の内幕を知ることが出来る。 　しかしこの作品はいわゆるカー・マニア向けのものではない。自動車業界でなくても、各種製造業の運営に携わっている人々が、我が身の苦労を登場人物のそれに重ね合わせ、毎日の仕事について反芻させられる、そんな面も持っている。 　物語の主体となる会話には、工場で働く人々に特有なスラングやジャーゴンが多く、辞書を頼る回数が多くなるが、ストーリー展開はテンポ良く、５０２項も短く感じられる。５００マイルレースの描写があっさり終わってしまっていることだけはちょっと残念。
