I am considering samsung bar plus, 32gb - 200mb/s 3.1 flash drives to tape tv shows on a dvr. are these usb's "factory 2" formatted?

All flash drives or formated FAT32 which is recognized by all DVR‘s TVs and computers

Do they get hot if u keep it plug into a android box?

Mine is plugged in to a Samsung Smart TV,I have watched some on there but I,m Back on TV mode right now but it is still plugged in I'll check tomorrow !

This somehow became write protected. i don't understand how, there are no buttons on it. i even went into mmc 'disk management', and cannot format

I have never had that problem, so I cannot answer that. I suggest you contact Samsung directly. They are usually pretty helpful in these matters.

Can a 1,000 photos fit on this?

I already stored 25000 photos on it and still have a huge space. This also depends on the size of the photos.
