The Food and Cooking of Colombia & Venezuela: Traditions, ingredients, tastes, techniques, 65 classic recipes

I liked this cookbook but I prefer her Colombian one that's a paperback. I tend to use that one more often as a daily cookbook. This one has nice photos but I really don't pull it out as often as the other one. If you're choosing between the two - go for the one with the green cover. That one is really, really good.

Absolutely love this book. The author has done an outstanding job with the photos and explanations of Colombian recipes. I am Colombian and have bought 4 of these books for gifts to my friends and family, and I even got one for myself. For my friends, it's nice that they can learn so much about my culture (in a nutshell), and for me, I feel that even though I was born and raised in Colombia, I don't know all the traditional recipes and this book has helped me greatly.It's certainly one of its kind, the photos are amazing and the recipes are truly fantastic! My only complaint here is that the portions are a lot. It'd be nice if they made for 1-2 ppl, plus big portions, thankfully I love leftovers so No complaints, and directions are so clear I've had yet to screw up a dish. (knock on wood)

I was an exchange student in Venezuela 6 years ago and have since attempted duplicating some of the dishes I grew to love while out there but was always missing that special'something' that I couldnt put my hands on. Thanks to this book, I can now make the dishes identical to what I had while there. LOVE it! I also like that it gives you a little history on some of the dishes/ingrediants and provides many awesome vibrant pictures.

This book is very interesting, if what you are looking for are Colombian recipes. However, nothing in here relates to Venezuela, not even the arepas. While there are many ways to make arepas depending on the region, the typical Venezuelan arepas was not included here. Actually, not one recipe is Venezuelan. The traditional Venezuelan HaLLacas (misspelled in the book), are nothing like what was described in the book. I would have bought this book anyway, even if the title only read "The Food and Cooking of COLOMBIA", but because I was looking for more Venezuelan recipes, I feel deceived.

Excellent Good

book has food from 2 latin countries..good quality pages and illustrations book explained some history of the recipes and the countriesI recommend this to anyone wanting to cook Colombian and Venezuelan food

I have a coworker from Colombia so I bought this book so she could help me get started on Colombian cooking. She keeps borrowing the book.

This is a very well presented cookery book with some spectacular pictures. I haven't tried the resipes yet as sadly like a lot of the more exotic cookery books the ingredients are often not the every day things I keep in the cupboard.

Arrived quickly , great Christmas present for my Venezuelan friend
