Wow - this thing is heavy duty! Nice storage bag.
The media could not be loaded. I was surprised that this was as thick as it is. The rope is 1.75 inches wide - and heavy. The soft shackles are nice and come with protective sleeves. I have used kinetic ropes in the past and they are the greatest thing ever for pulling out stuck vehicles. I have no doubt that this rope can pull out any full size truck/vehicle. This has a breaking strength of 36000 lbs - but is designed to pull out vehicles at a 1/3 of that breaking strength - so it could basically jerk out any vehicle that weighs 12000 pounds. My first experience using a kinetic recovery rope was when I had a friends full size dodge ram pickup break thru the ice from a big water puddle on a dirt road. It bottomed out the frame of the truck. I tried a non-kinetic rope using a full size truck - and tried 'jerking' him out and broke the rope - didn't budge the vehicle. We called a towing company and they sent out a 3/4 ton pickup - and I thought to myself 'No way' is he going to pull out this truck. They attached a kinetic rope and then took off really fast and stretched the rope and the stuck vehicle popped right out. I was forever sold on this technology.I have not actually used this item yet - and may never need to, but knowing I have it in my pickup gives me a sense of relief when traveling the back country.

Great value in a recovery kit
I really like the rope in this kit. 1" in diameter with a weight rating that exceeds my vehicle limit will definitely suffice for my needs. I carry couple different straps and shackles as well. The soft shackles that cone with this kit seem to be subpar compared to the rope itself. Not having used them yet it's difficult to say. Overall it is a good value.

Really Hefty
This is a really hefty feeling tow rope. Love the look of it and it looks to be very well made as it has a tight and consistent weave around the whole rope. It also comes with a duffle bag, which is really cool. I haven't had to use it yet but it looks and feels like it will perform without an issue once I finally do need it.

3.5-stars -- Acceptable quality basic nylon rope, but no certification data published
BACKGROUND:I have a Jeep Wrangler. Jeeps go places where they might get stuck. Although this is for kinetic recoveries (i.e. with another vehicle), it can also be used for static recoveries like when you are alone and only have a winch. Sometimes, you need a bit more line to get to the nearest tree than will fit on your winch. Having a couple of these in your vehicle gives you more options. It's quite aggravating to have 50 ft of winch cable / rope and be stuck 150 ft from the nearest tree. So, when Vine offered this to me for review, I agreed.INITIAL OBSERVATIONS:An acceptable basic quality braided nylon rope. The color is black which often tends to be more UV-resistant than other colors.COMPLAINTS / ISSUES:I tend to suspect weight ratings on most of these nylon ropes sold by the various vendors on Amazon. They all seem to claim a higher weight rating than what you will see specified on a reputable US rope manufacturer's website. The sellers / manufacturers probably feel that they are safe in their exaggerations though because most people do not have the proper equipment to accurately test the breaking strength plus such a test would be a destructive test and the rope would not be useful after such a test. If they want to make claims like this, then they should be sending the rope to an accredited testing facility and show a copy of the test results in the ad. If they don't do that, then you should take such claims with a grain of salt. That said, the 37K lb rating that they advertise for this product is a more in line with what would be an accurate specification. When I agreed to review this item, it was listed at $60 which was quite a bit less than some of the other similar ropes that I reviewed. At the time of this review, the price has not changed. That cannot be said for similar products that I've reviewed.IMPRESSIONS:It looks like any other similar sized nylon rope. There really isn't anything that differentiates these types of products. It comes with a carry bag, but if you don't need that, then you are paying for something that you will probably throw away. Some of the other units came with heavier bags, some with lighter bags, but if you are just going to throw the bag away anyway, it might as well be a cheaper bag -- it's not like they are giving those bags to you for free, you are paying for them whether you realize it or not.CONCLUSION:There's really not anything to differentiate this nylon rope from the multitude of other similar nylon ropes from various vendors. None of them publish MBS test results from accredited testing agencies. At best, they try to differentiate themselves by a carrying bag or including a soft shackle. As such, they deserve an "average" (i.e. 3.0-stars) rating. If they had published the test results from an accredited testing facility on the rope strength, then I would have bumped it up a bit, but without proper testing certification, you don't know if their claims are true. Since the price is a bit more reasonable than the others that I've reviewed and since the claimed weight rating is more in line with what a nylon rope of this size *should* be, I'll bump it up to "slightly above average" (i.e. 3.5 stars).ORIGINAL AD DESCRIPTION:OPENROAD Kinetic Recovery Tow Rope, 36000 Lbs (1in x 30ft Black) Extreme Duty 35% Elasticity Energy Offroad Snatch Strap, Vehicle Recovery Kit for Jeep Car Truck ATV UTV SUV$69.99STAR RATING SCALE:1 -- Poor product; Waste of money at ANY price; Blatant lies in the original listing.2 -- Below average product; Something about it is a bit lacking; It could be conflicted specifications or errors in the original listing or that it was arrived with damage that was unlikely to have occurred during shipping and should have been caught in either the manufacturer's or seller's quality control.3 -- Average product; Meets expectations, perfectly serviceable, but does not do anything that sets it apart from similar products; Does not have some features that makes me say, "Wow, that's a neat feature".4 -- Above average product; Something about it sets it a bit above similar products on the market.5 -- Excellent product (or perhaps customer service); There is NO room for improvement whatsoever; NOTHING is perfect, so this rating *should* be EXTREMELY difficult to achieve.ǝuᴉʌ/ʇǝu.sɔ-ɥs.ʍʍʍ:ORDERED:2024-06-03:RECEIVED:2024-06-06:REVIEWED:2024-08-29:AID:B0CYPCBVKG

Wonderful and Robust Tow Rope
I recently had the opportunity to test out this Kinetic Recovery Tow Rope and I gotta say it exceeded all my expectations. This rope is a must-have for off-road enthusiasts and anyone who finds themselves needing reliable means of recovery. To begin with, the build quality is impressive. The rope feels incredibly sturdy and durable, clearly designed to withstand heavy use. With a 36,000 lbs breaking strength, it handled everything I've thrown at it. I used it to pull a heavily stuck truck out of deep mud, and it performed flawlessly. The rope absorbed the shock and provided a smooth, controlled pull, preventing any jerks or abrupt movements that can cause damage. The kinetic aspect of this tow rope is where it truly shines. Unlike traditional tow ropes or chains, this one stretches and recoils to generate additional pulling power. This not only makes the recovery process more efficient but also safer. The elasticity reduces the impact on both ends, making the whole operation much smoother. It's lightweight and easy to handle, yet robust enough to tackle demanding recoveries. Plus, the bright color ensures visibility, which is a thoughtful touch. In terms of value, the Kinetic Recovery Tow Rope is worth every penny. The peace of mind it provides, knowing you have a reliable and effective recovery rope, is invaluable. It’s a must-have for any off-roader, adventurer, or anyone who may encounter tough situations.Overall, I couldn't be happier with this tow rope. It has already proven to be an indispensable part of my truck kit. It's durable, efficient, and incredibly effective. Highly recommended!
