I love these. They have a plastic zipper so I can use them in my saltwater, the mesh is supper fine so nothing escapes, and the size for me is perfect. I have used the drawstring ones for years as they didn't have any metal, however, dumping the product out was a pain. A pain to open, a pain to clean, and to refill. Once unzipped these open quite wide so filling and emptying is no problem.

I like fish, but I don’t own an aquarium. I use these handy zippered bags to protect my outdoor fountain pump from junk. Pump people: you know how the pump slows down as it collects slimy stuff. My pump doesn’t slow down anymore! In a pinch, you can use one instead of those sock things on your washer hose. You’re welcome.

These simple bags work great for holding aqua soil to be placed under aquarium gravel. I suppose they would work just as well to hold filter media. They definitely need to be washed/sterilized before use as there is some sort of finish on them leftover from the manufacturing process.
