With a pencil sharpener. I would get a good one in the make up section. I tried to use a cheap one (like $1) and it didn't sharpen as well. But spent $3.99 on one and it works perfectly.

Q: Dumb question...do you have to shave the pencil end to get more or does it twist up? I have one but can't figure it out.

I twisted the bottom over thirty times hoping to get more out, nothing happened. In desperation I tapped the pencil, cap side down, on the counter and within ten taps almost 1/4 inch of liner came out.

Q: Is there a specific sharpener that works with this? Mine didn't work.

Finally found a way to nicely sharpen this pencil!!! Fill a cup with very hot tap water (I do this every morning and set my mascara in it). Take the cap off and set the gel pencil, pointed down, in the hot water for 1 min or so and using a regular eye pencil sharpener the casing sharpened like butter and the warm gel didn't break!! Happy happy happy.
