Excellent water fountain for my single adult cat. The instructions were very complete, but a bit hard to follow. I had to read them several times, but if you just get started assembling, it is straightforward. Very quiet and the motion detector setting is great (the water begins circulating when a cat gets near, and also periodically). Tip, on first use, I filled the tank full, but found out when I wanted to put in fresh water, it is heavy. Only fill it half full if you have 1 cat. Then it is much easier to lift, and still is plenty of water.

Set up was very easy and so far it is working perfectly. It's very quiet and I like the choice of functions. This is a different design from a previous fountain we had for our cat and I wasn't sure how she would react to it but immediately after set up she approached it and began drinking from it. She did not do this with the previous fountain. It appears she likes the sensor feature. Once she saw how it worked, she will approach it, watch it activate, back up & then approach it again to activate it again. Apparently this has become a new fun time activity for her. So glad I found and purchased this fountain.Updated review:I have had the fountain for two months and it still works great. It is very quiet. The only noise you hear is when the pump is activated and the water begins to flow. I have it set on the motion sensor which works perfectly. The detection distance is just right. Not too far and not too close. Cleaning is a breeze. I have had three previous fountains and this one is by far the easiest to clean. All in all, the Smartoo water fountain was an excellent choice. It appears our cat thinks so too as I have noticed she drinks water more frequently than she did with the other fountains.I would also give 5 stars for customer service. I contacted them with a question, received a prompt reply and were very helpful.

Favorite things about this fountain:- Filters are easy to change & provide quality water that has encouraged my cat to increase her fluid intake.- Quiet - I hear the waterfall but not the motor run.- I was able to make adjustments between multiple settings to attract my cat to use it. Motion sensor / intermittent mode works well for us.- The light that shines from the water level window when the motion detector senses anyone near allows me to avoid the fountain in the dark, and easily check if the large reservoir needs a refill.- It’s primarily a sleek stainless steel unit, with a soft blue light (turns red if the water level is too low)-It’s rechargeable and lasts for a long time. I have yet to recharge after one month of use. It’s also convenient to place where it best meets your needs.Dislike:- The drinking tray is not secured or latchable to the fountain. Our cat has somehow pushed it off the base a couple of times while washing her paws. Hopefully the tray will stay in place as she becomes more comfortable using it.

works great, easy to set up. I would be nice if the fountain would stay on when our cat is drinking. He like to drink for the streaming water from the sink.

This thing is much quieter than (a different brand) that I had before, and I love that it doesn't run continuously. It is also quieter than the (same brand, earlier version) that my friend has. So far it has been very easy to clean and easy to figure out. Only issue I had was when setting up, there isn't an instruction on which way the main filter is supposed to go in the tray. It fits in there multiple ways, and looks like it has 3 different filters, so still not sure if it matters which way it goes.Battery seems to be lasting well, too. Another thing I love is that it has a blue light that comes on when it it operating, but then turns red when it is time to refill. Very helpful! This fountain is the best one, and smartest design, I've had!

I did endless research on these fountains to make sure my furry overlords get enough water and don’t develop health issues in the future. It was easy to put together and quiet. Unfortunately my cats (for whom it was intended) didn’t touch it for at least a month. My dog liked it, but I made the mistake of starting it on the motion detecting setting which just freaked them TF out. We had a serious “ghost in the machine” situation. Realizing those dummies wouldn’t get used to it, I put it on constant stream. They still avoided it (they actually just stared at it from a distance) so I almost returned it, but my dog seemed to love it. After about three more weeks of eyeing it suspiciously, I think my dog finally convinced them to try it. Now they take long drinks from it all the time AND I leave it on motion detector setting. It’s super easy to clean by hand and once a month, I like that I can throw the metal parts in the dishwasher. The blue light shows you the water level. and it alerts you when it is time to clean it and change the filter. My advice, have patience if your cats boycott, and maybe a dog or braver cat to model, but otherwise low maintenance and well made fountain with all the features you need.
