This bag's got a lot going for it from a design standpoint. It's got a vintage professional vibe despite being primarily made from canvas and zippers. I got the brown one, but the other colors looked good too. The snaps are magnetic and the buckles are purely decorative. I prefer this from a functionality perspective because real buckles are obnoxious, but I can also appreciate why some other people might not be into it.I especially like that the shoulder strap is sewn directly onto the main body of the bag. I've owned a few messenger bags where the strap instead clips onto cheap plastic rings, and it absolutely terrifies me that those rings will break one day and my expensive laptop will tumble down a flight of stairs or something. I work in an unpleasant part of the city, so I also have to worry about random people trying to snatch my bag. The sewing on this strap looks like it'll be nearly impossible to break, and there's a lot to be said for the peace of mind that comes from knowing your stuff is relatively secure even on a crowded subway car.That having been said, there's a few features I wish were better. The padding in the laptop pocket is thinner than in other carrying cases I've owned. The material of the outside flap doesn't seem to be any more water-resistant than typical canvas, so getting caught in a downpour could potentially be very bad news for any electronics inside.Overall I still think it's a great bag. The price is really reasonable given the quality, and even if it isn't perfect it still feels like a good deal.

I do two types of trips. On the long, intense ones, I need to take a lot of gear, and I have a large rolling laptop bag for those. But it's too big to fit under an airline seat, and clumsy to roll through airports with luggage. So I was looking for a smaller bag for shorter trips where I don't need to pack as much gear.This is just ideal for that use. It's big enough for my 15.4" laptop plus basic support gear, such as a mouse and various cables. It's not too big, so it's easy to carry and it fits under an airline seat.For it's capacity and size, it's pretty light. The canvas material isn't as heavy as the similarly-sized leather bag I had a few years back. It includes a nice, wide shoulder strap for carrying, or it can sit on top of my rolling luggage as I wheel it around.Inside is a compartment for a device. My 15.4" laptop goes there, and it's a snug fit as you can see in the included photo. You don't want to get this for anything bigger than 15.4", though something smaller such as an iPad would be fine. That compartment doesn't have as much padding the compartment in my rolling bag, but since I'm carrying it instead of rolling it, not as much padding is needed. Next to that compartment is a typical area for books, folder, power supply, and such.Then there is a smaller outside compartment for pens, business cards, and such.It has four other pockets, all decent size, for odds and ends that are thin or flat. One is open, but is closed by the same strap that holds in the device. The other three are zippered, including one on the back that is useful for boarding passes and such while travelling.The zipper is heavy duty, so I think it will wear well. I've had bags fail just because of a small, weak zipper, so I pay special attention to that.I like the magnetic clasps for the flap. They attach and detach easily, but hold well enough while I've got it over my shoulder.I can't say it stands out cosmetically, but it's fine for me. I wasn't looking for a status symbol bag.I'd say this is going to be my standard personal bag for about every other trip from now on.
