Looking for a book on death...look no further!
My 5 year old daughter often got very upset if she ever heard the word 'death'. This book was perfect!!! It explains death in subtle terms that little children can understand. It's just right for all ages!

Sad but not harrowing
It is sad but not sad to the point that you want to cry your eyes out so good. My daughter (who was5/6) was obsessed with death after losing her grandad and this was one of the books I bought to try to help her come to terms with it. It was recommended to me by a teacher in the family so it must be well respected. Our daughter got berevement counselling through her school so if your child is having a difficult time then its worth asking at their school if they can be referred. The counselling seemed to help our daughter so it is worth doing if you can.

The book is exceptionally good at explaining loss to young children
The book is exceptionally good at explaining loss to young children. My niece recently lost her husband , leaving two young children behind, this book gives a little insight to what's going on and how to deal with it, I know it's just a book but it just gives a little comfort.

Lovely story for younger children
I bought this book to help my 10 year old son deal with his feelings after my mum died suddenly in April. We read it together and we talked about memories that we have. My son seemed to have been hiding his feelings, and not really admitting to himself what had happened. The story helped us to talk about grief and that you can remember the good times and nice things that a person has done, and that he doesn't always have to be sad when he thinks about his Nanna.

Beautiful book!
I bought this book for my grandson aged 4 after he lost his auntie and grandmother within a short time of each other. He wanted to read it twice the first day it arrived! Beautifully illustrated, it handles badger's death sensitively, providing young children with a means of handling their grief and the death of a loved one. It's message is powerful and we all found it very moving. I thought it seemed familiar then my 33 year old daughter pointed out I'd read the same book to her after her grandad died when she was 5! An oldie but still as good as ever!
