Very comfortable and well made
These boots are GREAT! I have to be honest, I don't usually like Merrell shoes, well sneakers, but I bought these because of a trip that included motorcycle riding, as well as hiking and walking. Talk about comfortable! They can be laced and then zipped for comfort and ease of wear and removal. I'm really happy with this purchase. Great job, Merrell! p.s. I couldn't find anything I really liked in a women's boot, and these support arches pretty well, too! Excellent value for $$, lightweight, nice looking, good traction.

Love them.
Fitment: As someone who struggles with footwear due to the shape and wideness of my feet, these boots are a solid win in my book. I was able to order them in my actual size, without having to go up. One minor issue: The model for these boots was likely a wide foot with a higher arch. I did find them to be a little too spacious, as I have lower arches, but, I solved this problem with some cheap Dr. Scholl's inserts. What (minor) slippage I had was resolved. Weight: The boots are light weight. They feel like sneakers. They are as light as the Salomon Quest 4D's but fit me much better. Lacing: The laces are good quality, no bunching or breaking. I would have preferred metal aglets with metal speedhooks, but I can change these out later if I have any issues. Traction: No issues what so ever on the trail. I am confident when walking over smooth or wet rocks. Cushion: I have some bone spurs on my heels and these boots provided adequate cushioning on their own so I don't have any serious issues there. Waterproofing: They are not super water proof to be honest. They have a lot of ventilation and when treading through streams, your feet do get wet. They seem to dry fairly well if you're wearing the right socks (not cotton). Side Zipper: I originally wished there was a version without the side zipper, but I now see the merrits of the zipper system. They make it much easier to insert and remove your foot from the boot. I'm not sure whether the intention was a lace'n'forget system, using only the zipper afterwards, as I personally am unable to remove or insert my foot without unlacing the boots a bit. HOWEVER, I do not have to unlace the boots completely, and sometimes boots are hard to get on and off even when completely unlaced. With the zipper, the boots are really easy to get on and off. So far, I have had no issues with the zipper. I have put about 50km on them in rough terrain and they have not failed me. Overall: These are really solid boots. I am overally really satisfied with their construction and design. They are super comfortable and feel durable. You may run into issues with the plastic speedhooks later on, however.

Excellent boots, very comfortable, but be careful with size
I have had these Merrill MOAB 3 boots for two weeks, and after putting several miles on them I must say that they are about the most comfortable boots for walking, both on pavement and in the woods, I have ever owned. They are light, soft stepping, stable and supportive, and are claimed to be waterproof (though I have not yet tested them for that). I purchased them for outdoor activities that involve lots of walking and standing, occasionally on wet and soggy ground, and I am confident they will serve well in that use. That said, I do have two observations: This is actually my second pair as the first pair I received were far too large. I have several pair of perfectly fitting Merrell walking shoes in size 9W, so that is what I ordered with these Merrell boots. They turned out to be far too large, with more than an inch of extra room in the toe, and too much room on the sides. The good news is that Amazon makes the exchange easy, and three days later I received a pair in size 8 ½ W. These are also just a little too large, and an 8 Wide or Regular would probably be better, but I’m trying to make do with thicker socks. Still this variance in sizing from the same manufacturer was surprising. The product information seems to infer that, with a side zipper, they can be put on and removed without having to deal with the laces. I found this to not be the case. They can be removed by opening the zipper, but if they’re laced tight enough to fit properly, there is no way I can get my feet into them with the zipper open. What I found is that if I leave the zipper open, tighten the laces as with any other boots, and then pull up the zipper, I get a good, snug and supportive fit around the ankle.

Reliable After Months of Everyday Use
Merrell Men’s Moab 3 8" Zip Tactical Boots 10 1/2 Wide. I’ve been wearing these boots every day since November 2024, and they’ve performed exceptionally well. They are very comfortable and provide solid ankle support. The water protection is excellent—whether walking through rain, puddles, or snow, my feet stay completely dry. For an 8" tactical boot, they’re surprisingly lightweight. I can walk long distances and even sprint when needed without any discomfort. Overall, I’m very pleased with them and remain a fan of the Merrell Moab line. I previously wore the Moab 2 for about three years of rugged use, and the Moab 3 continues that same reliability and quality.

COMFORTABLE. SNUG. AGGRESSIVE SOLES. LIGHTWEIGHT. EXPENSIVE.
I've been wearing combat boots for most of my adult life ( military and law enforcement) and although I've only had these for one day, i really like them so far. They feel very snug. For someone with large/wide feet, you may want to order a wide width or a larger size. Despite their large, clunky appearance, they are fairly light weight. Nicely made, comfortable. The soles are nice, with a aggressive look and nice grip. The only real downside, aside from snug fit (for those for whom this is a problem), is the price. They are rather expensive. But as I always advise rooky officers and new soldiers, don't chintz on your boots. (for some reason VALUE FOR MONEY autopopulates on the review, this is inaccurate. expensive boots)

Most comfortable boots I've ever owned
I'm on my third pair of these boots in almost 6 years. I love them. I'm a big guy. 6'2" 360 pounds with high arches and an ankle that tends to roll when I walk. These boots are the only ones I've found that I can put on right out of the box and they feel perfectly comfortable with no breaking in and have great ankle support. My current pair is a year and a half old and will be replaced soon only because my feet are hard on anything I wear. Most shoes I buy I'm lucky to get six months out of. My only complaint is the laces don't last more than a year and I have to replace them.

Functional, Supportive, and Immediately Noticeable
I bought these because my old hunting boots started losing lace points last year, and I have several camping trips with other Veterans coming up this summer, plus hunting season again in the fall. I needed something functional, supportive, and reliable, not just something that looked the part. These showed up right as I was walking out the door to take my dog to the park, so I figured I would start breaking them in immediately. I expected the usual new-boot soreness, and I did get a little of that in the normal spots. That is just part of breaking in a real boot. What I did not expect was the rest of my body feeling better. For context, I started wearing combat boots around age 14 as a military brat. My feet were already adult-sized, and I could get boots cheap at the base thrift store. At 18, I joined up myself and, of course, wore combat boots through my military career, including my time in the Army as a Paratrooper and Scout. We rucked or ran everywhere, and I ran in boots more often than running shoes because, to me, training in shoes I could not use in the field never made much sense. I wore boots hard all the way through retirement. Lately, though, I had been trying to get by with softer shoes and lighter footwear. Even with decent footwear, my hips would start locking up, my lower back would spasm, and my knees would get angry about half a mile into a walk. First day in these boots, I did two miles and could still move afterward. That is not subtle. I fractured a vertebra in Iraq, and that did slow me down a bit, so footwear that actually helps me stay mobile matters. These are not old-school combat boots in the traditional sense, but they hit the right balance. They have enough structure, ankle support, sole stiffness, and stability to make my feet feel like they are back on familiar ground, while still having more cushion than my older “waffle stomper” style boots. My old boots still fit like gloves, but I cannot do impact miles in them anymore. These feel like the modern answer to that problem. They will still need some break-in time, especially around the usual pressure points, but that is expected. Overall, they immediately improved how I moved and reduced the pain I had been dealing with during walks. That matters more to me than any marketing language. I am already planning to order a second pair as backup, because when you find boots that work this well, you buy another pair before somebody “improves” them into uselessness.

Love These Boots Every Time I Wear Them
I could not be happier with a purchase. I hiked with these now some 50 miles, straight out of the box. No discomfort or problems with the boots. High tops allow loose lacing over the insteps, which has traditionally given me a lot of top of the foot pain (along with arthritis pain). I am prior military with good experiences with the high top boots. These have reduced the instep pain to a great degree, which was my hope. I think these are great boots, with a cushioning in the heel that I like. I don't see why they wouldn't work as well for anyone else. I don't find them heavy, I don't even notice I am wearing them. I wear size 14, and they were sized as expected. So, anyway, these boots are an answer to prayer.

Qualità
Ganci dei lacci ridicoli, in plastica e con rivetti piccoli e deboli: ne sono saltati due al primo tentativo di allacciamento...pessimo biglietto da visita per un prodotto di questo prezzo.

Super happy with these boot!
They are extremely comfortable, quality of the boot appears amazing and they are very nice and wide! They feel more like a sneaker as they are so very light and you cannot feel the cold snow or ice through these boot so they are great as a winter boot! Highly recommend these boots
