Review: Highly Recommended! - I am eager to share with women who are past (way past) menopause and who experience changes in their bodies that are not wanted (weight gain, belly fat, foggy thinking, lack of motivation, trouble urinating, lack of super-muscle strength, forgetfulness, skin changes such as eczema, saggy skin under the chin and/or on upper arms--a list of all the things that depict aging) to read this book. Suzanne's writings confirmed what I suspected about myself. (I have two other books from different authors--all good--so that I can compare information. They all agree on the fundimentals, that it is perfectly safe to use (cream) or ingest (pills) IF the estrogen is bio-identical. Beware that even soy and wild yam in products can first undergo laboratory processing, and then it is no longer advised to use/take. In those cases, the end product is Diosgenin, and it would not be considered bio-identical. I started to feel better one day after starting on a simple estrogen cream (desertcart) as well as taking supplements. I highly recommend that if you are experiencing the above-mentioned symptoms, don't wait any longer to do something about it. Suzanne Somers has interviewed doctors and has a lot of experience in this field, and she is living proof we can be better. I wish I did this 6 years ago, but I'm sure glad I started. I'm only doing this 4 days, and I am thrilled to say that I feel at least 30% to 50% stronger, more energized, more focused, more pleasant, more like I used to, and I wake up without the alarm after just a few hours sleep (my lifetime routine). I hope many women benefit from this. I highly recommend this book. Easy reading and chock full of information that will help you. Review: An Important Read for Women - This book should be a door prize for showing up at your annual physical when you're 39! This is a concisely written, information-dense guide to identifying and managing the myriad symptoms of perimenopause. The text is written with utmost finesse! You learn what you want and need to know quickly. clearly, and with efficient scope of information to get you to hit the ground running towards proactively addressing what's going on with you. Yes, the punch line is basically to use bioidentical hormones. Even if a reader doesn't want to shoulder the expense of clinical encounter, there are recommendations for supplements, what to eat, and avoiding environmental toxins worth reading. There's no bloated hyperbole taking up the first many pages-You get right down to business, so the text reads at a brisk pace. I LOVE that the testimonials were put at the end of the text. I was already satisfied with information for myself, so I had the patience to actually read them. Of course, the usual characters of her storytelling make their appearance in the book, too: her husband, Alan, and daughter-in-law, Caroline. You know them, don't you? All of her books feature her family members! It's charming and inclusive towards you, the reader. It cracks me up to read about how they're doing these days;) She makes generous mention of the Life Extension Foundation. For full disclosure, I used to work there. They. Are. GOOD! The folks that work there are sharp and helpful. I still stop in for their events. Yes, Bill Faloon is a real person. He is almost indescribably brilliant. To see what I mean, read his column which opens every edition of LEF's magazine. A very helpful guide to understanding those seemingly little things that bug you if you're a woman of a certain age. At a bare minimum, read the Symptom Solver section towards the back of the book. Highly recommended.

Thank you, Suzanne Somers!
I've read most of Suzanne Somers' books over the years. Suzanne's books encouraged me to look into bio-identical hormones, and I've been on them ever since (about 15 years ago). I've been fortunate to have found a doctor who will prescribe bio-identical hormones because most doctors will not even talk to me since I'm on medicare, and Medicare does not pay the doctors enough to warrant the time the doctor will need to spend with a patient, which is so wrong. Most doctors know next to nothing about bio-identical hormones. They confuse bio-identical hormones, which are made in a compounding pharmacy, with Premarin and Provera, both pharmaceutical drugs, which were the hormone drugs used in the infamous Women's Health Initiative, There is a book, Estrogen Matters, by Avrum Bluming, MD, and Carol Tavris, PhD., which discusses this Initiative, and also discusses how important estrogen is for women's bodies and health. Dr. Bluming recommends Premarin, however, which I suppose is better than not taking estrogen, but I have found that Estradiol/Estriol and Progesterone made in a compounding pharmacy work so much better. Premarin is made from horse urine, which is the estrogen choice of pharmaceutical drug companies. I so appreciate it that Suzanne Somers will share her experiences. I learn so much from her. All I can say is do your research, read all you can about bio-identical hormones, and then decide for yourself what you want to do. There is another book, Stay Young & Sexy with Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement, by Jonathan V. Wright, MD; I highly recommend it, also. Other books I highly recommend are Natural Hormone Balance for Women by Uzzi Reiss, MD/OB.GYN, and The Hormone Solution, by Thierry Hertoghe, MD; the two latter books are older, but are full of good information. And I recommend all of Suzanne Somers' books on bio-identical hormones and health. I got this book (I'm Too Young For This!) for my daughters, actually. I want them to have good lives, enjoy good health, vitality, good brains, and energy. Unfortunately, after menopause, women lose their hormones, and with those losses, a woman really needs some help. This book can help! I can honestly say that bio-identical hormones are the most important thing in my life.

Good Book - Love the problem solver section
The title got my attention so I decided to read this book. Almost instantly I was able to identify with the topics. The book was loaded with information and very easy to read. I'm rating it a 4 instead of a 5 because some of the material was repeated from past books. The best part of the book for me is the problem solver section. It provides specific remedies on whatever the issue you are having. Even though it is limited to the main perimenopause issues I felt that it was enough of the right information for me.

Every woman should read this book!
I learned so much about perimenopause and hormonal balancing from this book! I wish I had read it 5 years ago. The book has a lot of helpful suggestions and resources. I was able to find a reputable doctor from a website suggested in the book, I went in, got my hormones tested and got bioidentical hormones prescribed and supplements to boost my levels back up. I feel great & I'm looking forward to what comes with the perimenopause/menopause stage!

Take it from a husband. It works!!!!!!!!! Please read my review. This isn't some PR firm soliciting this.
As a husband with middle age wife, I saw Suzanne Somers infomercial for Bio identical hormone replacement therapy. This is a sensitive topic but needs to be addressed and acknowledged by couples as a real way to turn the clock back (if you know what I mean) :-). I think it's a shame that insurance companies won't cover the meds/compounds for it but I don't care. I will pay out of pocket and pay $100/month to make my wife feel normal again after several years of uncomfortable women's symptoms of menopause (pain, dryness, hot flashes). Unhappy wife, unhappy life! There is a website where you can get more information and a list of doctors who care about helping older women get back in balance hormonally. It doesn't need to be taboo. As women (and men) get older, our bodies don't produce the needed amount of hormones, estrogen, testosterone, etc to keep a woman healthy. Common insurance providers don't think bio identical hormone replacement therapy is mainstream and won't cover it. Let me tell you. Go to one of the doctors who are listed as practicing Bio identical hormone replacement therapy - we use Connie Jackson in Brighton Mass. Have a consultation, blood test to see levels, she prescribed certain meds (creams to use daily). After a recheck in a few months, they tweak the dose (after you tell her what is better or not) and you can get it made as a compound drug that can be mailed to your home. Insurance doesn't cover it but it isn't terribly expensive but it can really flip the switch back on women suffering from menopause............ I know it sounds crazy coming from a man, but no woman should suffer from hot flashes, pain, dryness, moodiness and all those other side effects of getting old. It is simply a chemical imbalance (as we are all made out of chemicals - that's why we take one a day daily vitamins. Ever check the label to see all the odd vitamins and minerals they provide??????????? You will be throwing decades of happiness away in your golden years together by not looking into it. Btw, it won't cause cancer with taking estrogen/estriol as they give you progesterone to offset it......... She was concerned as cancer runs in her family but she is fully onboard a year + later. After first visit and getting going with meds, it takes a few months to get your issues to subside/reverse. Be patient. She will feel better after a few months and then once in balance, she will feel "back to normal" and then it is maintenance. Yes, it is a nightly routine of application but well worth it Good luck and you may like what you find out.

it seemed great that Suzanne Somers was setting up an organization (Foreverhealth
I found the book to be helpful and interesting as someone experiencing many of the symptoms outlined in the book. At first blush, it seemed great that Suzanne Somers was setting up an organization (Foreverhealth.com) which helps match patients to doctors and a link to discounted blood work. I went to the site recommended in the book and signed up and searched for a doctor in my geography. Because I travel for work, I looked in three geographies for doctors. I then did google searches to look for reviews and feedback for each of the doctors listed. After about an hour of searching in all three geographies, I could not find a single doctor referenced that had a good review, and I would say a number of them frightening reviews, not to mention a number had "iffy" credentials. Clearly, there is no screening process for the matching process and I am now skeptical of the entire organization.

This book is an amazing tool to look at the “change”!
This book is FILLED with a massive amount of information for those of you ladies having trouble understanding what the heck is going on in your body in the 40’s! Western doctors give you pills and this book gives you the opportunity to have a voice for yourself by providing other avenues to venture down for your symptoms. Hot flashes, irregular periods, weird body changes etc. Bioidentical hormones have changed my life and I can function like I used to before my change started. You won’t be sorry you purchased this book- it truly can only help you and make you take a whole new look at assessing your womanly health. Your husband (or boyfriend, significant other) will appreciate it too!!

up to date, friendly, sympathetic not patronising, ...
up to date, friendly, sympathetic not patronising, even inspiring information on how women can escape the torment that often accompanies menopause. Only problem for many will be the cost because the author is able to afford the many tests and treatments in the USA which may be a little more advanced in this area not sure. On the NHS it would be almost impossible to get any of this diagnosis or treatment probably again due to funding and also patients have to do as they are told a lot more when the state is paying. Interesting read.
