Works great without reducing the original port
The splitter worked great and did expanded the ability to keep the original port as well gave two more ports to use.

Audio doesn't split properly... signal is different in the two outputs.
The video "splitting" works great. The audio doesn't -- anything other than two channel isn't output so if your intent was to split a Roku output, for example, to two different surround-sound systems, you're out of luck. Have to return.

It’s not what I wanted but it works. I wanted a adaptor.

If it doesn’t connect, try and use a different hdmi cord from the source to the splitter.

Housing not sturdy
The splitter worked well but the plastic housing is not sturdy. The bottom of the housing easily popped off.

Worked great from computer to two DIFFERENT tv's.
I needed to go from my computer to two different TV's for our church's senior lunch (bingo displays). Worked flawlessly. I also tested it with sound and found no problem there either. Not sure why another reviewer was experiencing problems.
