I’ve always wondered why such important documents like Medicare and Social Security cards are printed on flimsy paper. Over the years, I’ve accidentally torn mine just trying to take them out of my wallet, and they never felt protected. Personally, I don’t recommend carrying your Social Security card with you (better to keep that stored safely at home), but it’s nice to know the protector fits it if needed. I bought these because the 31 mil plastic is way thicker than a lot of other offerings on Amazon. There's a review on here that said they were easy to tear, but I tried, and all it did was wrinkle the plastic. Either that review is wrong because Amazon or the vendor did a switcharoo with the product, or they were tearing it at the seam where the two pieces meet on three sides. Under normal circumstances, this thing isn't going to be ripped apart--it's really sturdy! We got it for a Medicare card and it fit great! It should last for a long time and keep the card from getting torn. That being said, this isn't waterproof, so water will still be the enemy to watch out for, unless you tape the open side shut with packing tape or something. Don't drop it in a puddle or anything.

Not some cheap thin plastic! These protectors are sturdy. Nice clean and clear plastic. My SS card fits perfectly in it. My card is kinda old and showing it. I feel better now that I have my card in one of these. I feel confident it's protected. And a great price for a pack of 6... Can't go wrong.

I will never understand why things like insurance and social security cards are printed on paper, and can't be laminated...Important items like these need protection. This protector sleeves do just that. They're nice, pliable, and water resistant. They have an opening where you slide the card and a "lip" to make insertion/removal a breeze. They also fit in your wallet without taking up much space. Highly recommend for protecting those important paper cards!

These are for Medicare cards that are paper. They fit just a bit snug but it does fit. Helps keep it from getting ripped in wallet. Good quality. Would by again.

These are of EXCELLENT quality. Firm and NOT flimsy. Will definitely protect social security, Medicare, insurance and other important paper cards. They don't fit into the slots in my wallet, but fit in other areas of my wallet. I don't need 10 so will share with family members. Highly recommend.
