I have arthritis in my hands. Other leases that I have purchased in the past had a push down button release. My thumb was not strong enough to push the button on my 18 lb little rescue. He broke my ring finger a few years ago. Three weeks ago - he yanked the leash and I fell down steps backwards on my porch hitting my head and my bottom. I immediately searched for a leash without that stupid button! This one slides forward easily to lock or release. I am very pleased! If you have hand problems - I recommend this lease to control your fur friend.

I received it last week and it seems to be working well. I’m nervous that the ribbon is very unsubstantial though and my puppy will eventually chew through it. Update: Leash unfortunately broke after 5 months of use and no longer retracts. I only have a 10 lb pup so he wasn’t pulling that hard...super disappointing

The button on this one is difficult to use and doesn’t release the lock position easily. It has a half-way halt position but hard to find in the “heat of the moment” trying to stop your pup. The strength of the reel-in of slack has diminished in only a short amount of time. The clip is cheap and shoddy. The length is good Island that’s about all that’s great about this product.

Good leash. Sturdy, with nylon ribbon retractable leash, and the price was right. Customer service and follow up by Trustypaw was excellent.

Does retract easily

Used it for about 7 months and now it will no longer retract. I have a 28 lb dog so he really didn't have much pull. Thank goodness it's not that expensive.

I love the one touch lock on the retractable leash. I actually bought 2 of them for our two dogs in different colors (which I was grateful for). The attached doggy "gift bag" holders were difficult to open for adding new bags. On the up side, I know I will never have the end just pop off and have gift bags flying behind me like a kite. ;)

I adopted my dog on January 20. The cord ripped while I was walking her on February 19. We walked an average of 3x/day for 31 days with this leash. There was nothing anomalous about our use. I noticed it fraying on the edges after 2 weeks but thought the inside stitches were reinforcement. Poorly designed leashes could yield a devastating outcome, so I am relieved that we were not in harm's way when this ripped and hope that this warning will help others.
