Stability was fine, but the tension screw nut fragmented on the second day may have been from the Arizona sun.

OK product for money. I will recommend it.
Works with my very old Cobra radar. Fits snug. It does gets loose from vibration eventually on the leveling screw. But you can tighten it up while on the windshield. With some struggle. Or take off the windshield and then reatach.
