If you've used an Irwin drywall knife that's very similar to this don't buy this one. The blade doesn't stick out as far. Honestly, it's super annoying. Ordering a different knife

The reviews on this product are unbelievably dumb. I wish people would pay attention to what they are purchasing before giving a product a negative review. This is a fixed blade utility knife which is what almost all professional drywall and acoustical ceiling installers use as well as many general carpenters. This is an obvious copy of the discontinued Irwin knife which was always my go-to knife and I am very glad someone has begun to manufacturer it again. If you install acoustical ceilings, give this knife a shot. I am pretty sure you won't want to reveal a tile with anything else again.

I use my utility knife quite a bit for various chores around the home and in the yard. I routinely carry it in my pocket for quick access when I need it. I would imagine others do the same. So, this knife just won't work for me. How can I carry a knife in my pocket that has a razor blade exposed. I certainly don't want to have to unscrew the handle and reseat the blade each time I want to put it in my pocket and do the reverse when I want to use the knife. When I ordered this knife, I assumed the blade would retract into the handle similar to all my other utility knives. I should have paid more attention the the product description. This does not meet my needs. I would not recommend this knife for safety reasons.
