Easy to use with very good results and very easy to keep clean. It would have been 5 stars but the product description says that tongs are included but they were not. As Amazon is the seller it either needs to include them as stated or remove them from the description.

I would class this Breville as one of my best buys. I didn't want to spend a lot on a sandwich toaster because I was unsure whether it would get used very often so I searched Amazon Resale (formerly called Amazon Warehouse) and found the Breville Sandwich/Panini Press & Toastie Maker advertised as in new condition and with a decent price drop. The fact I could do several different types of toasted sandwich appealed to me, another big plus was it did not cut the sandwich into triangles with the proverbial inedible hard toasted edges. It arrived and was in indeed in as new condition and was put into service later the same day to make a simple cheese toastie, which was a great success, no tooth breaking hard crusts just a very nice edible cheese sarnie, since it's inaugural outing it has also produced numerous and varied filling Panini's with great success. I did read somewhere the suggestion that it was great for also cooking bacon rashers, well, of course that theory had to be tested @ next use. In all honesty I was not overly impressed, although I will say it is quite capable of cooking bacon, however it does not generate enough heat to produce a nice crispy rasher, resulting in a rather anaemic looking piece of bacon which required the employment of the grill to finish the job. So in conclusion I would say, unless you like anaemic bacon that is, don't bother trying to cook anything except Toasties & Panini's which will not disappoint. It is also very very easy to clean, just let it cool down and wipe any spills with kitchen roll then wash the plates with a cloth & some washing up liquid, rinse and wipe off any soap, dry with paper towel & store. Once it has been washed I place a paper towel between the plates to absorb any residual damp & protect the plate surfaces, there is a sliding lock on the handle & a bit on the underside to wrap the cord around. It is almost 1 year since I purchased this item and I have no regrets, it is a good quality item.

Nice size. Perfect for one sandwich. We had a large one but this is better as we only made one at a time before , we just pop them in as we make them for our family.

I bought this to replace my previous beloved breville sandwich press that sadly died. Although it makes great toasties, I was expecting the same level of versatility as my previous one, but I was sadly disappointed. Although it has a floating lid, it doesn't have multiple levels you can set it to to prevent the lid from dropping directly onto your food, which means cheese on toast, omelette, and various other dishes are no longer on the breville menu. Alas I have no space in my kitchen for a cooker so I am limited to using smaller appliances. My previous breville sandwich press allowed me to make toast which meant I didn't need to own a toaster as well as a sandwich press

One star to seller. The toastie maker itself is amazing. But the plug is for UK only. I’ll replace it by myself, but it’s better to find out about these nuances from product specifications, not when you unpack the parcel

This is the second identical toaster that we bought. First one bought back in 2013 and still going strong. we bought second one for our summer house. We do extensive research before we buy appliances and identified this one back in 2013. We were so happy that we never hesitated buying a second one 12 year later. If you like burn marks (lines) on your toasted sandwiches this is not for you. But toasters that make these lines have grooves that you have a clean. This one thankfully doesn’t. It is super easy to clean and as a result the coating of the plates lasts for ever. It can also toast paninis of various sizes and shapes (half baguettes, squares, buns, bagels, etc.) without issues. It can even heat up the occasional burger (cooked the previous day) if you so wish. It can probably cook some raw food items but we don’t use it for that. Bottom line: if you need a versatile toaster/grill that can toast/cook lots of things of different shapes and sizes, be easy to clean and last for ever, this is the one for you. These attributes are more important to us than cable length or presence of a switch (who cares: just remote the plug, or if in the UK use the socket switch). If you have extremely specific needs (needs to fit three square sandwiches side by side, or you need lines, etc), you may want to look for a different one.

EDITO solo para comentar que hace casi seis años que compré esta sandwichera y sigue dando guerra a pesar del uso intensivo que le damos en casa. Tiene las marcas que suele dejar el paso del tiempo y el uso, pero todavía no se le ha resistido ningún bocadillo. Mi comentario original: ¡No podria estar más contento tras haber probado mi nueva sandwichera! Esta artículo tiene una presencia impecable con acabados en acero inoxidable y plásticos negros. Tanto la superficie exterior como las planchas son superfáciles de limpiar, basta pasar un paño o papel de cocina húmedo y sacar brillo con otro seco. Sobre el trabajo que realiza, casi profesional. Para estrenarla hemos preparado unos bocadillos a base de rodajas de tomate y cebolla, espinacas, lonchas de queso, brotes de brócoli y jamón de pavo. El resultado ha sido inmejorable quedando el bocadillo planito y tostado mientras que en el interior los ingredientes se habían integrado bastante entre sí gracias al queso. La sorpresa mas grata, como avancé en el primer párrafo: la limpieza es cuestión de 2 minutos. Si encuentro algún inconveniente o virtud adicional, editaré mi opinión. Espero que sea útil y os animéis con la compra. Por cierto, adquirido a mitad de precio en oferta flash!
