Smooth, tasty, perfect in a dirty martini
My usual go to gin for dirty martini's is Opihr (affordable, tastes nice, most shops stock it) but Gin Mare is definitely a treat! Very smooth in cocktails, would be a perfect gift for any gin lovers, the bottle is fancy, and I love the Mediterranean flavours.Just a minor negative comment and that the safety seal doesn't seem that 'safe'. I've bought this twice and every time I open the bottle the seal doesn't tear, instead it rather lifts from the glass. So even if I opened and closed it, it would still look like a new bottle due to the seal not actually tearing. I think this aspect of the bottle should be redesigned.Other than that, delicious gin and would continuously buy!

Pricey, but excellent quality
This seems to have got more expensive of late. It is a great gin flavoured with Mediterranean herbs and olives. Pairs well with Dolin dry vermouth, which has a similar flavour-spectrum. It has the most beautifully-shaped bottle. It is now a bit over my price range so have changed to Tanqueray 10.

Nice gin
Smooth. Subtle flavours different to classic gin but, but still nice and dry. Not as creamy as Sipsmith. Decent value on offer.

Mrs Joyce's favourite!
It was an Irish barman in Valencia (sic) who first alerted my wife and me to the joys of gins other than Bombay Sapphire, which at that time seemed to represent the very zenith of sophistication. Since then, we've sampled a number of other brands, chiefly via the Amazon website, and have had a great deal of pleasure into the bargain! The first gin my wife and I tasted (and it is she who is the real aficionado, incidentally) was on the recommendation of the said Irish bar owner, Gin Mare, a super premium gin produced in a small fishing village on Spain's Costa Dorada. In addition to the "traditional" botanicals juniper, bitter orange and lemon peel, cardamom and coriander, are other, less expected botanicals grown in the Mediterranean region; rosemary, thyme, basil and arbequina olives. These are apparently distilled in a custom-made still before being hand-blended to produce a gin of distinctive quality. And what quality! My wife (to whom I bow in all matters gin) reckons that this is the best gin she has ever tasted, but stresses that it is best drunk with a superior tonic water (Fever Tree is our tonic of choice). I have to say that it is absolutely delicious...and the savoury herbal elements are clearly evident when tasting "neat".
