Easy fitment directly onto my 02 Suburban 2500. Came with all the parts needed to complete the install. Car definitely feels more stable in the steering department than it did with less 'wiggle' than these trucks normally have. Shock quality seemed decent, looks good and functions as I would expect. Cant speak to how this compares from a replacement value perspective as the Suburban never came with this part in the first place.

After replacing upper and lower control arms and ball joints I installed this hearing stabilizer since it did not come with one originally which made my steering a lot tighter and more enjoyable to drive. My 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD had one but the Yukon didn't. This has everything you need to install but I did have to modify by grinding the tapered Mount shaft so that the steering stabilizer mounted all the way down on it. Well worth the time and effort because the rig drives great now. Highly recommend great shock for the price

I really wish people would put what kind of vehicle they have when they write reviews for parts. I installed this steering damper on a 2003 gmc yukon xl 2500 and I'm pretty happy with it so far. I used to hate driving on the highway on a windy day, drifting around from yellow to white with not much I could do about it. I started looking into why that might be and this damper is one of the things that came up that might need to be replaced. When I crawled under to see if ut was bad I was kind of shocked to find that there wasn't even one in there. As far as I can tell, only the diesels came with these installed from the factory. But I did have the mounting bracket on the frame and the hole in the steering linkage to accommodate one so I bought it. It makes such a difference driving. It tracks true and I can take my hands off the wheel for a good quarter mile on the highway before I start drifting to the shoulder. It took a few days for it to "break in". Not sure if it was the part softening up, or me just getting used to the new feel of the wheel but I noticed at first there was some definite resistance against turning and coming back to center. But like I said that was only for a few days and now it feels nice and smooth. There's two reasons I only gave it four stars. The first is that there is no lower hardware included, so if your truck is like mine and doesn't have one already installed, prepare for a trip to the hardware store. I just used a 1/2" x 3" bolt with two washers, lock washer, and nut. All grade 8. You could definitely get away with a 2 1/2" bolt as you can see in the picture it sticks out pretty far. It just annoys me when companies don't send new hardware with their parts. The second, and potentially more serious issue is that for whatever reason, the tapered bolt that goes into the steering linkage does not go in all the way. I saw another review that had the same issue and I can't figure out if it's supposed to be like that or if something is wrong with it. I even tried smacking the thing from below with a small sledge to get it in further but there is a good 1/2" between the bottom of the steering bar and the base of the bolt. I'm hoping it will be okay since there isn't really a tremendous amount of force getting applied to that bolt. But my fear is that it will shear off and potentially damage other steering components. I'm hoping to get an answer back from monroe about it but until then, fingers crossed I guess. All in all a great product though. It's not too often that you find a $30 part that makes a night and day difference in your vehicle!

Shock fit fine on my 2008 cheve 2500hd Duramax. The only thing was the tapered end was a little large but fit, sit out a little, went on without modifications and the steering travel was good.

Everything was good until the bolt did not fit the chassis hole on my 2003 Hummer H2 , had to grind it down to make it fit .
