The Best Mortal Kombat Since MK2
This is a review for the Kollector's Edition of Mortal Kombat X.Mortal Kombat has definitely returned to form in this edition, never before has such fun been had in a Mortal Kombat game since Mortal Kombat 2 and the kinks from MK9 have been worked out.First of all, this is easily the smoothest playing MK game so far. I didn't not feel any lag between button presses or any unresponsiveness with the controls, the gameplay flows beautifully. There are 24 characters to choose from the get go. These range from MK classics such as Scorpion, Sub Zero, Raiden, Sonya, Kano to brand new characters such as Takeda, Kung Jin and Kotal Khan, but lest we forget Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs. The story mode is a little short, clocking in at around 4 hours. I've read other reviews that say the story mode is a little boring, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. However, there's not really much reason to play through it again. The stages are nothing short of brilliant, they come alive and Neatherealm have done a brilliant job. There is plenty to interact with during a fight, including using an old lady as a weapon which there is a trophy for, however there are no stage fatalities, which is a same as MKX is perfect for it.I found the tutorial to be a little difficult at times, but there was only one move that I could not execute no matter how quickly I pressed the button combination as instructed, so I skipped that move. I don't really bother with the elaborate combos and I'm not really going to remember them after one run through the tutorial. There is a lot of anger on the internet about the microtransactions. You do not have to purchase them, everything is unlockable via the awarding of 'koins' throughout the game. You can unlock everything in 'The Krypt' you just have to play the game a lot. I've also read that people are griping that you can purchase easy fatalities, fatalities aren't hard to do so the people that buy easy fatalities must be rubbish at the game and shouldn't buy it and so on. Granted, fatalities aren't difficult to do for most, but what about people with phsyical disabilities? Just something to think about there before you get unnecessarily upset all over the internet. Now let's get to the elephant in the room: The removal of the Kombat Pass and Goro DLC from the Kollector's Edition. I too was peeved about this, so I contacted Amazon and they refunded me the £24.99 cost of the Kombat Pass. It might be worth contacting Amazon yourself, if you pre-ordered the Kollector's Edition, and see what happens.Well, that's all I have to say about Mortal Kombat X at the moment. This game is great fun and extremely violent, fans of classic Mortal Kombat and newcomers to the game will love it.Have fun!

Finish Him!
I am a huge Mortal Kombat fan, and have been since I first played the original MK game back on the Sega Mega Drive in 1997 (although the game originally launched in 1992...). I will not be writing a comprehensive review about MK-X, as there are plenty of reviews online covering it far better than I can. I simply wanted to mention a few quick comments based on my opinoin of the game/collecters editions. As a Mortal Kombat fan, it was inevitable that I would opt to purchse this edition. At £90, it is not cheap, too. The main attraction of this collectors pack is the hand-painted Scorpion figurine. It is a fine-piece of art, no doubt about it. I was really pleased with it, and it has found a nice home in my study now. Also included is a copy of the game (steel-book edition), a few in game codes (not the season pass) and a short comic book. The game itself is visually stunning, and the gameplay is smooth. I got a little disinterested in the MK series on the PS2, and was not too fond of the gameplay from MK-V to armageddon. Things changed with MK on the PS3, which was a great game, and MK-X here is a continuation of a positive direction for the franchise. I found the game enjoyable to play, and am currently moving through the aciton-packed story-mode, which although hyperbolic, is entertainable, none-the-less.I am sure that die-hard MK fans will be purchasing this game, regardless. They will enjoy it fully. I am also sure that those who enjoy mindless beat-em-ups will also appreciate the game. Would I recommend this game? In a heartbeat. But only fork out for the collectors version if you are prepared to pay a premium for the Scorpion figurine.

Mortal Kombat X "Kon"- Edition
► NOTE: This review is entirely based around the Kollector's Edition and not the game itself. ' Mortal Kombat X ' as a game itself is brilliant and well worth the buy..·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.In all honesty I'm utterly disappointed with this '"Kollector's" Edition', and to be quite frank, disgusted at how the EU/UK were treated differently to their US consumers. So, what's in the box?∙ Mortal Kombat X game disc in a steel case.∙ Hand painted Scorpion statue.*∙ A serialised steel card.∙ Mortal Kombat comic book Volume 1.∙ Gold skin for Scorpion (DLC).∙ Kold War skin for Scorpion (DLC).∙ A leaflet advertising the 'Kombat Pack', just to rub it in your face that we didn't get one included.* The Scorpion statue looks AMAZING, it really is! But even combined with the other "extras", to pay £50 more than the game itself just isn't justifiable. So why did I pre-order it in the first place you may ask? Like many others who had pre-ordered it the moment it was available, it was actually advertised to include the 'Kombat Pack' (basically a season pass for extra characters as they come out): This would normally cost £25 as an extra purchase from the PlayStation Store. If this had been true, the Kollector's edition would be well worth the money. Also, to back other customers experiences, I too saw the Goro DLC pre-order promotion. It seems that at some point, the information regarding the Goro DLC and Kombat Pack had been corrected; unfortunately anyone who had pre-ordered this product prior to the change were not notified, otherwise many I'm sure would have cancelled their pre-order.Now looking at the official Mortal Kombat website, the Kombat Pack is indeed included in the Kollector's edition... For US only. Apparently it was never intended for us to get it included within our Kollector's Edition. Great to see them treat us EU/UK customers like mugs!If you can pick it up for less than £65 then it's worth the money, any more it's just not worth it, regardless of how "collectable" it may be.
