Fantastic LARGE French Butter Keeper!
I love these type butter keepers! The trick is to really mash the butter into the "lid" portion, to make sure there are NO air bubbles remaining. For my environment (California coastal) the result is butter that stays soft, does not fall into the "keeper" portion, and stays fresh. For my environment I don't even usually use the water, I just love the butter kept in the dark and in cool ceramic on my counter, and the butter mess is not visible as it is in a clear glass butter lidded dish. This particular one is just a tiny bit larger than my previous one. My previous one just barely barely fit a cube of butter, actually I usually left a tablesppon or so out of that dish to keep it within the cup portion well and not have it mounding outside of its cup area. This one fits the entire cube without issue.Plus it looks great on the counter! And normally I don't like words on my dishes and bowls and servers, but this particular one is helpful. To have "butter" not in some bold print but in subtle raised lettering is still classy but announces to visitors that yes indeed, this is where the butter is kept.I love this butter keeper and highly recommend it.

Amazing!
I was nervous about using this but it’s been working so well! Now I have spreadable butter all the time!

Ok
The concept is good. I live in northeast. Butter in butter dish in summer is soft. I think winter this will be great. Water line is a bit high. First time pulling butter out there was water on ceramic. We dumped some of the water out. I guess the biggest thing is turning the lid with the butter up right. It’s meant to balance on the knob while knifing butter out of it. It’s ok but nothing like a butter dish.

So cute!
This butter crock is well designed, and looks very rustic and handmade. I love the green pottery finish. I do wish it held a bit more, but the design is perfect, and it keeps the butter perfectly at spreading consistency. I have only hand washed this, but I appreciate that it is dishwasher safe. It looks much nicer on my countertop, than my giant roll of Amish butter in wax paper, lol. I think it's well made and well worth the price.
