Very impressive scope and accessories kit
I had been looking for either a scope or small pair of binoculars to carry with me while hiking. I'm in a hiking club here in Colorado, and we run across quite a few birds and wildlife, but they're usually at a distance due to the noise our group creates. I wanted the scope to be small and light enough to easily haul on these hikes.I saw this scope and was intrigued by it, so I placed my order. It arrived quickly and was very well packaged. There were no damages when I opened it.With my initial inspection I was very pleased. The scope felt very sturdy and appeared to be well made. The coating of the scope is lightly textured so you feel like you have a good grip on it while using it. It also feels like it's fairly scratch-resistant. I've used mine quite a few times, and it still looks like new. There are two different focusing methods. You have a ring by the eyepiece and a knob at the top to fine-focus. Both of these turn easily and smoothly. They also are just tight enough during focusing so they stay where you want them to be.The magnification is pretty impressive for a small scope. It brings in great details, and works well even in lower light conditions. It also works decently for astronomical viewing of the Moon and some of the easier to see planets and nebulas. The accessory kit is nice too. It includes a small tripod, an attachment apparatus to connect it to a cell phone, and a carrying bag. The cell attachment does a great job, and is easy to set up, though it is just a bit awkward to use.The closest thing to a criticism I have is that it weighs a bit more than I would prefer for carrying on hikes. It's not heavy, it just feels heavy for it's size (probably less than a pound). I'm assuming this just means that the element lenses are made of glass and not plastic. Being familiar with changeable camera lenses, I know that glass elements make for better image quality. When considering the quality, the size, the performance, and the accessories included, I would definitely recommend this scope for your use during hiking, sporting, or other activities that you view from a distance.

There isn't a wrist strap & the lanyard is cheap but aside from that it's very nice and well made...The lanyard is a piece of crap. The phone holder is O.K. The tripod could be made better and the tripod is for all and intense purposes very well made considering it's small size and lightweight nature and the fact it is mostly plastic with a little bit of metal. The lens caps could be better. The scope itself is very nice and I highly recommend the scope. The case is o.k. but I wish it was better but considering the current price as if the writing of this review it is overall o.k. despite my desire for it to be better. Overall good but could be better by including accessories that were as good as the scope itself.Good day & God Bless...Randall M. RueffK9RMR

Pretty good monocular
I have a lot of cardinals, blue jays and robins near my house, and I get a good close up view of them from a distance with this 12 X 50 monocular. Waterproof, fog-proof and shock-proof, this scope is not only good for bird-watching, but also useful for sporting events and scenic views of your surroundings while camping or hiking. The included tripod and cellphone fixture aren't as quality-made as the monocular, but then they are made out of plastic. But, all in all, the monocular is a good value.
