The worlds of science and the supernatural collide with a vengeance in ABC Studios' explosive series, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - The Complete Fourth Season. Amid shifting loyalties and growing anti-Inhuman sentiment, Agent Daisy Johnson ("Quake") has gone rogue. But she returns after the terrifying "Ghost Rider" leaves a trail of scorched bodies in his wake. Then, corrupted by "The Darkhold", a mysterious and powerful book, Life Model Decoy (LMD) AIDA creates replicas of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and imprisons their minds in The Framework: a deadly virtual reality simulation in which Hydra reigns supreme. Immerse yourself in all 22 action-packed episodes - plus riveting bonus extras - with this awesome boxed set! The product comes in both Blu-ray and DVD Review: The best AOS season so far!! - Unlike a lot of people, I've enjoyed Agents of SHIELD from the very beginning, even the much maligned season 1. However it is true to say that each season has built upon the last and improved in quality. Season 4 is no exception and is definitely the strongest year yet for the series. This 22 episode season has been constructed as three mini-arcs, each one cleverly heralded by a change in the title sequence, and bound together by the overall story of the "Darkhold", a mysterious book that drives much of the narrative. The first chapter is about classic Marvel character Ghost Rider and the reintegration of Daisy Johnson into SHIELD after going rogue last season. The special effects for Ghost Rider himself, although used sparingly for budgetary reasons, are excellent and on a par with the visuals seen in the two poor Nicholas Cage movies. The second chapter involves the threat of "Life Model Decoys", or "LMD's", a familiar concept to anyone who's read a SHIELD-themed comic. It's another excellent arc that includes some interesting ideas about what defines a 'soul', and segues nicely into the final chapter. This final arc is entitled "Agents of Hydra" and is definitely the strongest batch of episodes this year. It sees our heroes thrust into a virtual reality "Framework" where their world is flipped upside down. Hydra is in control, good guys become bad guys and a few surprise characters return. There's also some nice, not so subtle commentary about the state of American politics at the moment, and even a few scarily prescient scenes depicting people (including children) locked in literal cages at "re-education centres". I have yet to see Season 5 (I prefer to watch box sets rather than television broadcasts riddled with adverts) and I do hope we don't have to wait as long for that Blu Ray release as we did for this one. The good news is that AOS has been renewed for a sixth season, albeit truncated to 13 episodes. But, as Season 5 had a budget cut imposed on it, that might not be a bad thing. Meanwhile, Season 4 is another excellent season for a show that goes from strength to strength and I can't recommend it highly enough, especially to viewers who might have dropped out afer being disappointed with the opening year. Review: Best season of AOS! - Agents of shield really has been the most consistent show on TV in the last 5 years with a not so great start, but from s1 ep16 it's just got better and better with each season, something of a rarity in TV. Season 4 is a masterpiece in my opinion, I can't think of any flaws. It was entertaining from start to finish with the writing and story being the most well written and intelligent. And as much praise I have for the writing and the 3 story arcs it's the characters that are the true heart of the show, the core group of characters kind of remind me of buffy and angel, even the dialogue is witty and sharp and can go from dark and emotional at one scene to being funny the next, and is so much more better in the dialogue and writing department than the CW comic book shows. I highly recommend this season to any AOS fan.

Superhero-TV of incredible quality - a must see for fans of the genre
I've always felt, that "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" was the best of the Marvel-shows - even in its weaker moment. But somehow it is often forgotten among the more mediocre Netflix-shows. This season is almost flawless, actually it's totally over the top. Wild imagination on par with sci-fi movies like "Fifth element" or "Brazil", great scripts, humour and really good acting. When you get to the "Body Snatchers"-inspired part of androids taking over members of the staff, it gets gets really scary (as in the Don Siegel movie) and not just cheap splatter-movie-shocks (which is basically not scary but just gross). But after that ride, the series reaches a new level with the "Agents of Hydra"-episodes. Watch it, you're in for a ride. This is the best superhero-TV I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot) and ranks among the best sc-fi-shows as well!

Good continuation of the series...
Fourth season. Another 22 episodes. Only 240 reviews as i write this. The consensus is 5 stars. Similar to my reviews on the first three series, whilst i agree that this is a good series, i dont feel it is worth a 'must watch' / 'multiple watch' 5 stars. Hopefully without giving away too much, in this series i really enjoyed the challenge of trying to work out who is real, but there were elements of the storyline which grated a little, so only a good 4 stars from me....

The Best AoS Season!
There is so much to talk about when you hit the topic of AoS S4. Ghost Rider makes his official MCU appearance and shows the character off amazingly, using him well. The story is connected to the back of S3 with Dr.Radcliffe and Fitz creating a robot that looks and acts like a human, only for the plan to turn against SHIELD and the 'Framework' gets created, a virtual world that we see for ourselves later on in the story. Many old faces return for this season and it is really good to see them working together again. By far one of the best Marvel TV Shows to be pulled off and Season 4 shows it. 1-3 is well made, but 4 takes it to a new level with Hydra included still. If you're not already watching this show, then you need to free up some time for it!

Love it.
I have no idea why some Marvel fans don't like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or take it seriously ( well, as seriously as you can take any superhero stuff). Even Kevin Feige has said more than once that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is not Marvel canon. . But i don't care, because i love it. And this whole season, set in fascist dystopian alternative reality, is like one, big, fun, homage to a lot of Sci-Fis greatest tropes. The kind of Sci-Fi where everyone has an evil version of themselves, usually with a goatee. With a bit more shouting and drinking, this season could cross over with Rik And Morty. . And the inclusion of Ghost Rider is a massive plus to me as well. . If you have to dive headfirst into Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. somewhere in the middle, then this season might be the most confusing to do that with. But possibly the most fun as well. Or maybe the season right after this, perhaps. It's a tough call.

Blu-Rays work in US
Okay, pay attention because this is sort of interesting. There are many versions of this particular product on Amazon. Many with reviews decrying that it's a bootleg. Those reviews were likely accurate for WHEN they were posted. If you cross reference their post-dates with the licensed release of the show, all the reviews claiming it's a bootleg are posted before the season was actually released. That being said, this particular version of the product, as far as I can tell, is the correct, ABC released and distributed version of season 4. Now, when I bought this, I was moderately concerned it wouldn't work since it's rated for and primarily sold in Europe and I reside in the US. From what I can gather based on other reviews (from across the various versions of this particular season, in addition to the other seasons), the DVD's are region locked to Europe, but the Blu-Rays are not. While I cannot test the DVD's status, the Blu-Rays DO work on my US player. That being said, the quality of the product itself is very satisfactory. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to purchase a hard copy of the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Coulson forever
