A great read

The story is intense as ever and there are both serious and funny bits. Compared to other similar titles I like how people actually die in the Hunter x Hunter series. It adds realism.

The Hunter exam arc wrapped

The Hunter exam arc wrapped up pretty well, giving Killua more nuance than your typical Hiei/ Vegeta type of character. It also transitioned smoothly into the next arc. It did kinda of stumble a bit with pointless exposition about how this world's versions of phones and the internet work. Plus the stuff with Killua's brother didn't amount to anything, so much of this volume felt like a waste of time that didn't do much for the overarching story and offered little value in and of itself.
