Great boot lid supports

Important - if these are for your SLK you’ll need to do a small bit of homework. On the face of it, when you try to fit them, they’re too long and don’t fit. Do a bit of Googling regarding fitting rear struts to an SLK and all will be revealed. There are several ways to skin this particular cat !

Fitted to R171 Slk 200. Initially a real pain as wouldn’t fit, slightly longer than OEM struts and impossible to compress by hand. However got a top tip, undo the top ball fixing with a 13mm spanner and you can slide it up a bit to make more room. Once done fitting was easy. Good strength to these struts, boot now held open securely.

Relatively easy to fit these gas struts to the boot of a 2005 Mercedes Benz SLK, there is however a knack to it! Price was very good and with a Prime delivery even better. Not sure what the lifespan of the struts are but so far, so good.

Arrived quickly, easy to fit if you adjust the fixing point on the boot lid (otherwise you will need to compress them slightly).

These were advertised with very convincing German origin credentials. They certainly look like good quality despite the made in China label. The boot on my SLK is heavy but these had no problem lifting the last few inches unlike the previous more expensive Moretti struts. Good struts with adjustment at one end!
