Shelby Herringbone Button Top Cap

the cap looks terrific, but the button at the top recently just dropped off. i looked carefully at how the button was originally attached, and i can see the attachment was badly designed and was destined to fall off at some time. too bad. otherwise a nice cap. i am trying to return the cap and hope gamble and gunn stands behind their product. it has been a couple of days since i wrote this review. since then, gamble and gunn has contacted me to tell me they are refunding my money.

I've wanted a Newsie cap for a while and when I stumbled across this, I had to have it. I followed the fitting instructions, but the cap feels somewhat small, but close enough that I'll be keeping it. The size selection range doesn't allow for the nearest best fit. So you're only allowed a slightly snug fit or a too large a fit. This was true for me anyway. Hopefully it will stretch just a bit with wear, and if not, I'll get it stretched at a hat shop. Really like the cap though.

Was really excited about a newsboy cap coming from England...while the construction, style, materials are really nice....it's from china...paid way too much for a Chinese made hat...that other ones from China on Amazon are under 10.00.....and are the same quality

Since I went to public school in ‘Merica, I miscalculated centimeters. My friend with a smaller head than mine has a beautiful, well constructed cap. I bought two more in the right sizes!!!

An exceptionally excellent buy in a classic cap. It is beautifully crafted and fits true to size. The description and photos are accurate, but it will look and feel so much better when you inbox it. Delivery was very quick--even with a federal holiday in the week. This was a very pleasing purchase!

The cap is alright but not what is pictured or what I wanted. The crown is narrow like a driving cap. The pictures show a much broader crown. If you want a big apple type cap, look elsewhere.

Hat fits good. Nice style, but for the price and shipping it was made in China. The product is misleading because it leads you to believe it is made in the UK!

I got a medium, 57cm, size 7. But it's far too tight for me head.Also, it's flimsy and doesn't maintain a good shape, not like the other ones I haveThis is a pass for me.

I own several caps, all bought from Amazon. This is the first time I've bought Gamble and Gunn cap. When I compare it with the Jaxon & James caps I have (that were around the same price) the material seems a little thinner, the lining isn't quilted and looks baggy inside the cap. Lastly, unlike the peak of my other newsboy caps that have metal poppers holding it to the body of the cap, this cap the peak is stitched in place.

I love this hat it is warm and comfortable. What I am slightly disappointed about is that it was described as a wool blend hat but it only contains 5% wool, which hardly makes it wool blend. It is in fact mostly polyester so it is a polyester blend really

Excellent quality, pay for what you get.Arrived within two days of ordering, come in a flat packed cardboard box, and content sealed in plastic cover.It's a good fit (not too tight or too loose)I really like this peaky blinders cap and it's exactly what Thomas Shelby wears in the British TV show.This is my first purchase of a hat of this kind and I was worried about the modern style and if it would be appropriate to wear this in the year 2016 however I've noticed guys from 30+ wearing them when I visit the city centre (Liverpool) and celebrities like David Beckham, Daniel Craig and Justin Timberland wear these fine traditional English hats so that must be a good thing.If you are wondering what type of clothing style to wear to suit the modern look then I would suggest denim Jeans or Chinos, with a nice t-shirt and short sleeved shirt (or a casual rolled up sleeved shirt) with boots or shoes that maybe match the colour of the hat?Winter you could wear Chinos with a stylish blazor.Or maybe you're just a peaky blinders fan, whatever your reason, get out there and Wear it.

The fit is good, but the material is pretty thin and lacks a quality feel, however the lighter material will be a benefit to those whom wear caps in warmer months. For winter months, one will need to shop for pure wool alternative. This is an expensive thin cap, when you consider its a basic 8 panel flat cap. Listed as Wool, but label says only 5% wool, rest polyester.The cap is listed as Black Herringbone, but it's hard to see where a Herringbone pattern is, it's virtually plain Black.Lastly, it's not a true Shelby. This caps' construction is thin and has no substance to hold its own shape. It needs to be of thicker material, and fuller to be able to mould to one's preferred shape.Returning for a Melton Wool Shelby.

This cap is a cheaply made hat for the size it was to small the lining was was not fitted well and the outer material was very thin making the hat fall wrong this hat was made in China, it would be better to spend a little more money and buy a good English made hat
