I needed to replace the backup camera on my car because it was fogging up but I didn't want the hassle of removing the old camera and pass new wires. The solar4b is a snap to install: just plug-in the monitor in the 12v outlet in your car and place the magnetic camera in the back... that's it! The image quality is very good with a wide view, fast refresh rate and no glitches. The night vision is excellent. It's been very cold outside (-20ºC) and the camera/monitor still perform perfectly. I've used this setup for a few weeks and the camera battery has held up good, still showing full as of today. The magnet on the camera is very strong so I'm not afraid it will fall even on rough roads. I also have the original Solar4 on my camper van and it's been performing very well so I'm confident the new Solar4b will also be excellent. The camera is holding up well after being exposed to the hot sun and bad weather. The solar panel has started to show some visual degradation but still works fine. I mentioned this to Kaya at customer service and she sent me a replacement just in case I had any issues. Great service once again :)

I use this camera on the back of a longer boat and trailer to help me both back it into the water and to help me back it into a fairly tight space in the storage lot where I keep it. The camera performs as expected, easy to install and use, clear resolution, adjustable backup line markers, etc, etc, but I also found its durability to exceed what I could have expected.I forgot the camera attached to the boat while on the water and it got knocked off. Hours later when I realized it was missing, I found it submerged in water within the transom of the boat. I didn't think there was any way it would work, but I dried it off and plugged it in and it worked perfectly.I couldn't be happier with this camera. It performs as expected, is very easy to install and use...and is apparently built extremely well. It's a great value for the money.

The magnetic base stays on the truck perfectly. The picture will is clear. The setup was painless. Little things to know. I wish you could zoom in. The camera itself works off a rechargeable battery. You need to manually shut it off when you are done. I mounted mine on my rear roof rack so that it !oops do?an o?n my bo?at as I travel.?

Overall the camera and monitor work great. Due to the magnetic base it makes the camera easy to move to whatever vehicle you will be towing.The camera and screen both work well. I see this camera more for use with an additional vehicle, such as a utility or travel trailer, or towing another vehicle or boat. This has been super helpful and was extremely easy to setup. The monitor uses a tablet style mount so I was able to easily connect it to my Bulletpoint Mounting Solutions Rubigrid dash mount in my Toyota Tacoma. I opted to go with the smaller 5” screen since it will save room on my dash and I didn’t feel like a bigger screen was necessary for my application. I have a long bed truck with a camper shell truck topper and a 3-bike 1Up bike rack on the back. So when I have the bikes loaded up, the camera on the tailgate doesn’t work so well since the bikes are in the way. I added some metal plates to the bike rack and placed the camera on by using the heavy duty magnet. The magnet is impressively strong! When I’m not carrying any bikes I simply just remove the camera. Everything works well and the signal strength has shown no issues. My only gripe is that I really wish it had a wide angle lens so I could capture the entire width of my bike rack. Other than that this backup camera is awesome!
