After using for ourselves, we bought everyone in our family a bear butt hammock! Easy set up if used with their kodiak straps. We also have the bug net and rain fly so it is our tent when we backpack. I love hanging and never wake up with an aching back like I would when sleeping on the ground in a tent.We found the key to the perfect/comfortable hang is to count 13 feet one in front of the other in between hangs. Any trees further than that are too far apart and will make the sides too taught and uncomfortable. My husband and I have slept in this together while backpacking making the combined weight of over 450 lbs and it held us just fine. Not only do our kids love it, but my 64 year old mother has also climbed in with me to see what the hype was about and we ended up having to buy her one. We highly recommend this brand. They say they stand by their product and will refund or replace guaranteed, but we’ve not encountered any need to return anything yet.

Worked great for a month or so but then went downhill. The straps that the hammock is made with broke while my husband and 8 month old baby were laying on it (husband weighs about 155 lbs), thankfully they were ok. I contacted Bear Butt and they said I needed the upgraded straps! Really?! If you don’t upgrade it may brake right away?? Just charge more and sell a hammock that won’t brake without upgrades! Anyway (tangent over), they weren’t willing to reimburse me for the hammock so they sent free straps. They were supposed to send 2 pairs because I bought 2 hammocks (one was a gift) but the second pair never came and my friends never received their straps. That said, about a year later, the material of my hammock tore at the top, its almost completely torn off at this point. I’ll have to take a photo. Needless to say, I’d go with a different brand. I sure loved the style and was trying to support their biz but not impressed with hammock or customer service.

I started off with a single cotten woven hammock, then upgraded to a single nylon hammock from walmart. I needed a double wide to support my girlfriend and myself and I decided to go with Bear Butt. I couldnt complain with the price since my friend bought an enos for $90 I thought I had nothing to lose. This is by far my favorite Mock and I wont buy any other brand. I like the style and the way Bear Butt markets themselves as a humorous, young, and growing company. Most companys are straight by the books and boring. Unlike Bear Butt, they definitely stand out with their content, adding humor to the mix. It seems like a very fun company to work for.That being said I love my OG Bear Butt. Having it be Double Mmock is the way to go because you can completely enclose yourself and become a caterpillar during metamorphosis. Its lightweight and easy to set up.I recently go The Scout by using the burn policy that Bear Butt offers. I had a hammock from walmart that was not cutting it and thats when I found the OG on amazon. After loving the OG I decided to get rid of my other hammock that was taking up space in my closet. I put it to good use and burned it on my next camping trip and Bear Butt came in with the clutch and sent me a Hammock of my choice.I noticed that the Bear Butt Logo is on both sides of the bag so I don't have to flip it over when I want to take an awesome picture of me in Hawaii.I also noticed the new design of where the carabiners hook onto which seems extremely sturdy and well made.As I stated in my other review of the OG I would recommend a Bear Butt over any other companies 100x over.

My daughter purchased an eno hammock with her Christmas money. What can I say...it's her money, and since she is a 13year old girl, the brand needed to be the same as what her friends had. Then my other three children as well as my husband and myself all really wanted hammocks too. The financial hit we were about to take was staggering...so I looked into other options. BEAR BUTT HAMMOCKS ARE AMAZING! They are reasonably priced, generously sized, and very well made. Being able to see them side by side, I would even venture to say that they are better made and at least as soft as my daughters eno. Thank you so much for offering an affordable option for those of us wanting a superior hammock without breaking the bank!

I have now purchased four of these, one for myself, my mother, my father, and my girlfriend.I absolutely recommend this product. These hammocks are great for hiking, camping, and just chilling.When hiking, the extra space in the double hammock can be used to store blankets and clothing, which will help you sleep warmer and keep goods dry.The only negative is that they don't let the breeze through, so if you are going to set this in your backyard in a hot environment (like Texas), you might be better off getting a net hammock instead of ripstock. I will say, from experience, that these hammocks are far more durable.

When I first saw this hammock I wanted one, but was shopping for a vestibular swing for our daughter who is mildly autistic and loves to swing. Those swings are a form of therapy and range from $80-$200+. That's when it hit me. If I hang this hammocks two end close together it basically makes the same swing for a lot less. Now my daughter points to it and tells us, "I want to swing!" It's also big enough to fit two kids and now my son won't let her swing alone! If I can ever get my kids out of it my wife and I can set it up as a hammock and relax in it. When I read the description and warranty info I had to have one. Now if only I can get them to make kids sizes so I can use this one! Great quality, good construction, fast shipping, awesome product! Thank you Bear Butt Team!

Three friends and I all ordered one of these hammocks. They arrived a day early and we're exactly as described. The size is great. My friend and I have never had a hammock and were a little worried about the size. We are both a little smaller and didn't want to be swimming in it. It's perfect! Now we can't imagine a single hammock. It would be so small we think. There is plenty of room in the double for more than one person but it is still amazingly comfortable for one! Go for the double and pick Bear Butt!
