Probably a bit warm for summer. Around now would be ideal.

Q: Is this coat suitable for Skiing?

Yes , but it's not as thick and padded as I imagine a skiing coat to be . This is a lighter / mid layer top or a jacket to wear if the weathers a bit chilly- not if its freezing cold !

Q: Is the hood removal ? with zip etc.?

I have this jacket and hood is removable with zip, all incorporated into collar, hood is quite small though, as in it doesn't come very far forward meaning that it keeps hair dry but not face - maybe I just have a large head!
