Digimon Adventure Tri the Movi [Blu-ray]

Digimon Tri continues with movie 5 Coexistence
Digimon Tri Coexistence picks up exactly where the previous movie (Loss) ended so if you haven't seen the previous 4 movies in this series I would strongly advise you watch them first otherwise you will be confused about the plot of Coexistence. If you have seen the previous 4 movies and want to know more about the Coexistence dub then read on...Like the previous Tri movies where the focus was mainly on one or two of the digidestined Coexistence is no different. This time the plot is focused on Kari and newcomer Meiko who first appeared in part 1 reunion.Kari has some really stand out scenes that show how caring she is for the group and her sense of what the Digital world is feeling. Tara Sands who voice's her giving an outstanding vocal performance in the scenes where Kari is the focus and for me is the highlight of the movie.Without giving much away Meiko's scenes mainly involve her relationship with Meicoomon and now that she has lost control she wonders if they are still partners.I would say overall this is the main focus of Coexistence with her seemingly coming to a resolution about Meicoomon by the end of the film. Although there is resolution it feels like there are 3 very similar scenes where she is saying the same thing and by the third time I was thinking again really? The movie has a faster paced feel compared to part 4 with more urgency given to the situation with one slight dip around half way through to tell ghost stories. There are some funny moments in Coexistence but I didn't laugh as much as with Part 4 but I put this down to that this is the penultimate movie so there simply isn't as much time for jokes rather than the jokes not coming across well. The movie does end on a cliffhanger again but it doesn't end as suddenly as the previous one. This is to be expected though as if they wrapped everything up there wouldn't be much point in the upcoming Part 6 Future movie. My only slight negative with the movie is that some of the voice acting for Tai sounds a bit odd at a couple of points it was like Joshua Seth who voices him had to many lines to fit in or wasn't quite sure of the context of the lines in relation to the movie. There are a couple of scenes where the character from the previous scene keep talking despite not been on screen anymore, it just sounds a bit odd. These parts are small though and certainly not problematic enough to detract from the overall quality of the movie. The only extra feature on the blu-ray is a 10 minute interview with Johnny Yong Bosch who voices TK. It is interesting and gives an insight into his view on the character and his view on the Tri movies success. As with previous collector's editions of Digimon Adventure Tri this movie comes with 4 art cards and the theatrical poster that was used in the US & Japanese release. The cover sleeve has Meiko, Kari, Gatomon & Meicoomon on using the same artwork as the Japanese release.Overall Coexistence is another high quality movie in the Digimon Tri series and I would highly recommend it if you have watched the other movies in this series. Now the wait for the release of the part 6 dub begins...

DAT#5
Digimon adventure Tri #5 is probbbaly the least of my favourite of the 6 movies, however, are some moments I liked about the movie, also, although the poster may suggest that it follows both the characters on the front, you will realise that it focus on one character more rather than both fairly, overall if you want to see this one and to have in your collection, then by all means do so,

Exposition, exposition, exposition
Part 5 is one half exposition the other half pep talk. The new character (they decided to invent for the movie for some reason despite already having a large viable cast) spends most the movie wallowing in self pity meaning the rest of the cast have to give her the exact same pep talk every ten minutes. The worst thing is these are not short pep talks by any means, meaning most of the movie is talking heads and people sitting down and having a chat. Something interesting does happen right at the end, but since the next movie will probably recap for you, you could probably skip this instalment.
