Bird Call Craft Kit (Makes 25 Projects)

We put these bird call kits together for a Cub Scout project, then a nature walk. The boys LOVED them! We didn't have time to paint, so I don't know how well it would take paint. The natural finish looked fine, almost lacquered. If you are having a group do this as a project I would suggest putting a bit of the rosin in a very small bowl(it comes in a mini baggie) as the boys all plunged the metal bit into the rosin and made a mess of the baggie, their fingers and the table! All that was needed was a screwdriver to make sure the screw was tight enough. It did come with 25 pieces of twine/cording to hang around their necks, but it was very itchy(most of them wore it around their collars to keep from being itchy). Over all a great, quick project. They loved making bird chirp sounds on our walk!

The bird calls were a bit smaller than I anticipated. They arrive unassembled and unpainted to clarify any questions about that. As a 'party favor' project for nature lovers or small crafting it can be charming when custom decorated, painted or simply treated with sunflower oil.
