NEW EDIT: The company did reach out after seeing this review and sent us a free replacement due to the issues. It has been working for over a year, no issues. Good company, decent product. This fountain leaked so bad that it flooded the base and now it stopped working. It hasn't even been 6 months since I bought it and it won't work at all, so now I'm out $90. The size was convenient, but other than that it was a total waste of money. The app stopped working a month before the actual fountain stopped working, so there is no reason to buy this. Stick with their smaller ones, they work better and last far longer. I regret this purchase.

Shipped quickly and packaged very well. Comes with great instructions however the app walks you through everything. Quick install and super easy to setup. Love the tracking for water intake, frequency, and duration. The magnetic "pumpless" pump is so much nicer than traditional pumps that can get clogged up and stop working. Very quiet and all 3 cats seem to really enjoy it. App allow you to easily adjust notification settings, pet profiles, cleaning cycles, filter replacement, etc. The real-time notifications sent to your smartphone about irregular pet hydration, low water, power or Wi-Fi failure, and when the filter needs replacing are truly real-time. Within 30 second of my pet leaving the fountain the notification will appear. The larger tank capacity has been great and lasts 4-5 days with 3 cats. The only dislike would be regarding the collars and RFID tags. The collars seem to come off a little too easily and I have had the cats actually pull the tag completely off the collar while wrestling. The tag itself is a little large and bulky and clanks off the side of the fountain and food dishes, which my cats don't particularly appreciate. I ended up ordering collars from a 3rd party that work better for us.

A sleekly designed and nifty water fountain that brings to mind the opulence (and price tag) of luxury vehicles of yore. The fantasy of owning one of these fountains is much like the fantasy of having a vintage Range Rover in your garage. And like the Range Rover, this fountain is better off remaining a fantasy. It is a beautiful turd of a product. I rarely, if ever, leave reviews on Amazon, but my life after welcoming a Petlibro Dockstream into my home has been an almost ceaseless wave of frustration. It is a breeze to clean and replace dirty filters, yet this ease is instantly counteracted by the Dockstream’s refusal to pump any water for at least two days after every cleaning. After a few weeks it decided actually tracking my cat’s drinking activity was beneath it (according to this fountain my cat didn’t drink any water whatsoever for 3 months). For the last 6 months it claims the water tank has been empty/separated from the base. But thanks to its ingenuity(?) it occasionally does pump water it claims does not exist for a few days anyways. I will probably never purchase another Petlibro product ever again. I will even try to convince friends and family to avoid Petlibro, no matter what Wirecutter or other online reviewers say about their fountains and feeders. I am not a particularly bad-tempered nor truculent guy. Yet sadly Petlibro has turned me into a miserable schmuck who wastes every other evening attempting to get an uncooperative fountain to work just so his cat can be hydrated. Even Sisyphus can’t have been this wretched since he at least didn’t have to pay money to pointlessly roll up his boulder.

The people that designed this must not be caretakers of hellion cats. I got this because our old fountain, a drinkwell 360, was huge and a pain to clean, so it didn't get cleaned as often as I would have liked. This fountain is way easier to clean and put together, and it's incredibly quiet and attractive. But it's easily pushed by a stubborn cat head, even if it's against a wall (he will find a way to get water on the floor). And the plate on top isn't secured, it sits snuggly but is easily disrupted by a playful paw, getting more water on the floor. At first I thought maybe we hadn't cleaned it well enough after opening, and I use filtered water from a water cooler, not tap (god forbid I use tap!). But no, he is just a dick and wants to play with the water, preferably on the floor. I've tried fastening it to a waterproof mat with velcro, and wedging it into a corner, and that fortified it enough against his persistent pushing. But the plate is still an issue, I've tried connecting zip ties to hold it down, but he sees all I do as a challenge, and he has figured out how to get the zip ties off (another toy of course). This fountain is great if you have docile cats that aren't human 3 year olds in a cat's body. I love the filtration, and that the water isn't all constantly open to the air, and it's so quiet. But be prepared for trouble and water on the floor if your cat is like mine. If the manufacturers would redesign the top part to click or fasten in, that would make things a lot easier. I want to make this fountain work, so I'll eventually come up with something. Find a photo of the fuzzy perpetrator of these water crimes attached.

Our unit has been working non-stop for 3 years with no motor issues. The only issues are: 1. me (discipline needed to clean it), 2. hard water, 3. the 2 cats that use it.😅 So take a close look at my pic because this is what it will look like after 3 years with average cleaning. It's a lot like having a fish aquarium to clean. You'll want gloves and a soft sponge to clean it. You definitely must change the filter every 2 weeks, even if you can't do the thorough scrub. My cats will stop using it if I don't change the filter. About the water and hard water deposits.... I only put filtered water from the fridge in this (and I change the fridge filter regularly). We have hard water where I live. The edges of the stainless piece and the plastic tub have become covered in water deposits that I can no longer remove. I have put it in the top rack of the dishwasher without problem but it doesn't help with the scale. I've tried vinegar, blue Dawn soap, a sponge, it won't come off. I'd give this unit 5 stars if somebody could tell me how to eliminate this permanent staining/scale with something that will be safe for my cats. But I dislike it's appearance with the edge staining and stuck on debris. My cats have never gotten feline acne from this despite the plastic parts. They both like it. My cats are long-haired so long hair gets stuck on the edges of it. One cat tries to stand in it if I put it on the ground, but if I put it up on a countertop he does not. I do notice that the cats tend to drink from it right after I refill it and I'm not sure why - maybe they like the cold temp of the fresh water? Maybe it needed a refresh? Petlibro seems to be dominating the pet water fountain market and I would buy from them again. I like the filters I buy from them and they are easy to order. I would like an all stainless model - but only if somebody could prove to me that the stainless would stay cleaner than this model. But the one stainless piece in mine is just as bad as the plastic pieces.

Great water fountain for the cats (and dogs!) All of my animals use this water fountain and enjoy it. I would like a larger capacity since my dogs are big (50 and 100 lbs), but overall I bought this for the cats and it works exactly as I hoped.

This water fountain is nice but I have had some trouble with it. I can't seem to get the weight calibration right on it. Customer Services says that I only need to do it once but I have never been able to do it once. The fountain doesn't run all the time which for some might sound great but for me, sometimes the fountain is full and my cats are unable to drink from it. I house sit so I'm not home every night and I am often worried if they are getting enough water. I also hate that I have to pay to see how often my cats are drinking from it. When you first get the bowl I guess you get a 30 day trial but the price they want is outrageous for tracking water intake. If I would have known this I would have stuck with my old bowl. It holds water and is awesome when it works but so far I'm not sold on it.

We purchased this fountain in late September 2025 and I am writing this review in early May 2026. This fountain was great at first. I really liked that the pump is not submerged and that there is a low water indicator. It is totally quiet. Our cats really like it. In January for the first time the pump randomly stopped working after a cleaning. My spouse spent hours trying to get it working again and finally it did. It happened again a few weeks ago right after a cleaning. So I thought maybe it had something to do with how it was being reassembled just those few times because it otherwise was working seamlessly. But now in the past few days, it has just been randomly cutting out. I have 3 cats and they drink a lot of water so they're pretty upset when their fountain isn't working. What has been happening is that it randomly acts like the tank isn't on the base, or that it has no water. The red water indicator light comes on and there is no pumping, even when the tank is full of water. Nothing fixes it. We clean it often so there are no clogs or anything of the sort. I've reassembled it, I've unplugged it a thousand times, I've plugged it into different outlets, I've reset it, all to no avail. The only thing that happens is when I unplug it and plug it back in, the pump turns on for 2 seconds and then stops. This is a lot of money to spend for something that works for only 7 months.

Se met facilement en fonctionnement. Très peu de bruit, c'est normal, il faut bien que la fontaine coule ! Très peu sonore. On entend pas le moteur, juste l'eau qui tombe et il faut vraiment faire le calme et être attentif pour l'entendre.

Warning: They try to sell you filters and a health tracking service Pretty good water fountain, I have it set to run 24/7, my cats don't seem to mind drinking from it when it's running. If you install the app and have your cats collared it can attribute how much water was consumed to the at the fountain at the time and track your cats water intake. The base runs off a USB cord, comes with wall wart. The tank/pump is driven wirelessly so you can just pick it up to refil/clean/W.H.Y. For tracking you have to put an RFID tag on your cats collar (2 RFID tags and collars included), it cannot use your pets implanted RFID tag for incase it gets lost. The RFID tag is the same type used with their RFID feeder, so you only need 1 tag for each cat. It comes with a couple extra filters for the drain on the top to keep cat hair and whatnot out of the tank. Easy to pop out and clean by hand. The App bothers you every 2 weeks to clean the tank and replace the filter. So far it seems worth it to keep the app even with the every 2 week notice.

Ich habe den Trinkbrunnen nun seit 14 Tagen. Beide Katzen nutzen ihn ausgiebig zum Trinken. Die eine Katze mehr, da sie sehr wasseraffin ist. Ich nutze gutes Mineralwasser, was wir selbst auch trinken. Der Trinkbrunnen ist extrem leise, nur wenn man genau hinhört, vernimmt man ein leises Plätschern. Das stört aber überhaupt nicht. Betrieben wird er durch eine große Powerbank, da Stromanschluss für uns noch zu ungewiss ist. Die Katzen sind noch zu verspielt. Den Kauf bereue ich bisher nicht. Zum Reinigen des Brunnens kann ich noch nichts sagen.

I would not call myself a cat water fountain expert. I have only owned two water fountains. The first one I ever bought has been wonderful but it's a little noisy and hard to clean. That being said, I wanted to get them another one because the cats loved it so much. I didn't bother to do a lick of research because I was so confident in my fountain picking skills. I was scrolling Amazon as one does when window shopping on the couch, and I saw this fountain. They advertised it being quiet and easy to clean and I thought 'Oh yeah, we'll see about that.'. So, I ordered it. I think it was the next day, I got it in the mail and I pulled it out and I thought wow it's smaller than I thought it was. The next thought was put this in the bedroom. If it's quiet, it shouldn't wake me up. I cleaned it walked into my bedroom put it down and then filled it with water. Then I plugged it in. It worked instantly as the water started flowing. They were honest. It is almost absolutely silent, the odd bubble when the water level is low but it's just water sounds as opposed to pump sounds or machine sounds. So now it's in my bedroom and I can only hear it when the cats are drinking out of it because all I'm hearing is them slurping water. Overall, this was a fantastic purchase. I am honestly looking at maybe trying to get a second one and maybe a back up because it's at a fantastic price. Now to add a little more context, I've had it for a while now. I've had it for over a month and I've experienced absolutely no issues. I love it. It's great.

We have been using this fountain for a year now, and I cannot recommend it enough. After 8 months we noticed that the pressure was getting weaker and we tried in every way possible to clean the pump without success.. but just today I realised it is possible to disassemble the pump!!!!! Made me so happy to find this out, because I was about to give up on this fountain. I cleant all dirt in every corner, and guess what, the pump pressure is as strong as when we just got it!!! I'm pumped (pun intended) :D anyway, don't give up on this fountain, just make sure to clean it properly you'll be fine :) little trick: I use cotton buds where its tricky to reach. Have fun!
