This is an amazing lighting kit but the amount of work involved to install it is extremely long winded.The instructions are extremely basic and while they tell you what to do its really down to the user to figure it all out.I ended up using this in wall art piece as the process to install it into a car requires removing the roof cover, drilling holes for the individual fibre optic cables, gluing them in place and wiring the light engine into the cars power, which was something i was not willing to do and unless you know what you are doing this kit is not for novices.The Starlamp app control works well enough and allows custom colours and a bunch of presets as well as music mode, however you need to download the apk direct from a chinese website and install it and allow a ton of permissions and i ended up installing this on a spare phone that has no internet access or a sim card.The music player only supports mp3 files too so my large collection of flac files are no good here but you at least have a mic mode as an option or you can use the remote control to turn on a music modeand have some basic colour and animation modes.
