Just what I was looking for
UPDATE: I've been wearing this coat on colder days during December and it is perfect. It keeps me warm without being bulky or heavy. And it's so well made I'm sure it's going to last me a good many years. Get one if you need a warm coat without the bulk!I haven't actually worn this coat out yet, but it is exactly what I was looking for. The fit is great (2X), I like the color and the style, and it promises to be WARM. I like the length down below my hips and the pockets. Has an attached hood that is fleece lined which will be nice in coldest weather. I almost always have good luck with clothing from Amazon...in my opinion, it beats running around to stores. This coat did not disappoint at all. Try it if you want a lightweight coat that has plenty of features to keep you warm in cold weather.

Warm, Lightweight, Great Plus Size Coat
I don’t do many reviews but as a plus size person I rely on accurate reviews to help me know sizing - so, here’s my info. I’m 5’9” and about 275 lbs. I wear an 18/20 in pants and usually a XXL or a looser cut XL. I have heavier arms and hate sleeves that are too tight. I have this coat in the vest version and have loved it, so took a chance it would fit. I ordered the 3X as I knew Columbia products tend to run small. It fits perfect, a 2X would work if you wanted a more fitted look. Loose but not huge, room for a heavier top underneath (but ok with a normal shirt too). I did not feel like the Michelin Man at all. Sleeves are great and have a thumb hole for hands if needed. Length is about mid thigh on me. The therma-heat lining works amazingly as it did with my vest. We had a cold snap here in Tx and it was a windchill of about 4 with strong winds, and it kept me warm, but the sleeves are not lined so I wouldn’t rank this as a super cold weather coat long term. Also, very packable. Folds down pretty small, and the hood is not bothersome. Highly recommend, and it’s now one of my favorites.

5’7, 240lbs
I had this coat in navy blue in a L for 8 years, until I put on too much weight and it didn’t fit any longer. So I came back to buy the same coat, but this time in an XL. It zips no problem! I think comfortably, if you’re 5’7 and 240lbs, you would want a XXL. I unzip the coat from the bottom when I’m sitting for me not to feel like the Michelin man, but I’m actively losing weight so I didn’t want it any bigger (started at 260). It reached me by my mid thigh. The coat is lightweight, the hood has fur in it (nice addition compared to my older version) and the hood isn’t detachable. I haven’t washed it yet so I’m not sure how the blush color will do but I used to wash my navy one all the time no problem. The Omni heat on the inside keeps you warm. I use an umbrella so I’m not sure if it’s waterproof or not. Overall it’s a very nice coat. Zipper pockets on the outside and one inner zipper pocket on the left chest. Pockets hold an iPhone pro max and car keys, and can be zipped closed.

Perfect for Eastern Tennessee winters
I’m 5’1, about 190lbs and I ordered a 2xl so that I could layer jackets underneath this coat. It’s perfect! It’s lightweight, yet warm, long enough to cover my butt and legs, and had thumb holes so that cold air can’t infiltrate the coat. I love the color too. Hood is nice and insulated and has a fuzzy material inside. The coat itself has a thermal lining on the inside and is warm enough to wear without layering on some days. We’ve been having lots of snow storms in my area lately and this has been perfect!

If you have something to layer
Warm and light, comfortable and feminine. But not for the entire winter season, maybe for autumn to early winter. If you have a good pair to layer with it, would recommend.

LOVELY, lightweight and warm!
This winter coat is exactly what I've been looking for! It is very light weight, quite warm, the double zipper works very well, the hood is well fitted when cot is fully zipped, it has nice, deep pockets and is very pretty as well!I like the mid thigh length and the fact that is a simple coat without a lot of hidden pockets. Columbia is a great brand.I don't know about water resistance as I only bought it recently. It is nicely semi fitted, which is flattering for most people.I do wish it had some front snaps, as it has to be unzipped or completely zipped. The double zipper helps a bit.I am 5'7", weigh 140 and bought a size large. It fits well. It could not be any smaller. If you like to layer a lot, I suggest 1 size larger than you normally wear.

Good investment
I never pay much for a winter coat but decided this year to invest in a better one. I typically wear a US 2X but I ordered a 3X because my hips and behind are wider. The top is a little looser because of that. This coat is incredibly lightweight and thin so much I doubted it would be warm.Pros:-Lightweight and not restrictive-Lasted 3 hours in light freezing rain without soaking through-Kept me at a perfect temperature in 30 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 hours with just a hoodie underneath-Has hidden inside zipper pocketCons:-Side pockets are zippered but a little difficult to open and close-More of a personal preference but I wish it had some sort of a drawstring waist to give it a little more style/shapeOverall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and I actually don't dread having to put on a coat in Michigan winters.

Great early spring or late fall coat
Comfortable, flattering, great for early spring/late fall, not warm enough for deep winter if outside more than just going to/from car. Pockets great. Lining super soft, arm cuffs super.
