Worth every penny
After using Oakton for a couple of decades which were perfect, plus one or two Hannah ones that were junk, I was very impressed by this Tadeto which ticked all the boxes for me, price, 3 pt calibration, back light, large display, screw tight cap that hold storage solution, a few pouches of calibration crystals, and basically waterproof. My unit was dead on accurate out of the box just like someone else mentioned, and it came with the cap full of storage solution to keep the probe in perfect condition (unlike Oakton). The soil probe/guard was a terrific addition for people who really want to know what's happening in their soil. It turns out in California with all the calcium carbonate in the municipal water supply that my 8.3 pH tap water was leaving my soil up around 7.5 pH, not good. I watered a few times with Neptune's Harvest fish hydrolysate which brought things back down closer to 6.0, and the plants loved it. The value here is tremendous.

Decent meter
I purchased this meter to help me really dial in my cannabis garden. I wasn’t having any problems, but having another tool at hand couldn’t hurt. I received the meter and after unpacking I calibrated it. Fairly easy to do, instructions were a little confusing at first but figured it out quickly. The readout on the meter was not working properly, did not show complete numbers . Only half of the screen showed numbers. Took out the batteries, reinserted them, pushing buttons at random, no go to get it working properly. Sent it back, and 5 days later I received a new one. This one worked great. Readout works, holds its calibration pretty well and is nice and durable. I’m not sure how precise this meter is quite yet, but am working on that right now. But seems fairly accurate. All in all, I’m pleased with the meter and would recommend it.

Bad firmware? Returning due to calibration issues
I wanted to like this meter, but unfortunately, mine has a firmware or display defect that makes it impossible to trust. The Problem: According to the manual, during calibration the meter should display: CAL1: 4.01 CAL2: 7.00 CAL3: 10.01 However, my unit shows: CAL1: 4.1 (not 4.01 or even 4.0) CAL2: 6.7 (not 7.00 or 6.9) CAL3: Correct This is not a rounding issue—4.01 rounds to 4.0, and 6.86 (if using NIST standard) rounds to 6.9. The numbers displayed do not match any standard buffer table or the manual. Why It Matters: Even if the actual measurements are accurate, the calibration prompts are wrong. You should not have to guess whether to trust the screen or the solution. A pH meter needs to be reliable, and this one isn’t right out of the box. Verdict: Defective unit or badly design firmware. I am returning it.

A good product
I purchased this device in May of 2025. I use this in my worm farm. So far so good. Is it accurate? My worms are thriving and doing well.

Excellent!!! Comparable to BlueLab and Apera
I purchased this pH probe along with the BlueLab PENSOILPH and Apera AI102G . In side by side testing this probe is as good or better than the BlueLab and Apera at a fraction of the cost. Way to go Tadeto! I sent the other two back. Drift after one month of calibration has only been 0.1 pH unit. Anyone complaining about this probe either received a defective unit or has no experience with pH probes. In the majority of negative reviews, I suspect the latter. I on the other hand, have worked extensively in biomedical labs and understand these probes well. I'm not going waste your time and mine giving a tutorial. Suffice to say, if you know what you are doing this probe is a bargain! Something like this 20 years ago would have sold for over $1000.

Much easier than test strips and more accurate than the cheap moisture/pH/nutrient meters.
I love this device! I am a novice gardener and was struggling to read pH test strips and the cheapo moisture/pH/nutrient meter was not agreeing with the strips at all. I splurged on this meter and it is fantastic so far. Comes with test reference fluid so you know when it says 4, 7, 10 pH, it is absolutely correct. This confirmed that the cheapo meter was WAY off. This also was MUCH easier to read than the pH strips which always show a disagreement between the different color strips so you end up being +/- 1 pH which is a lot when it comes to soil.

Soil tester
Works well when you put the batteries in the right way. The symbols on the unit are a little backwards from what you normally see. So far no issues

Completo y efectivo
