Just what I needed to screw the gate post back in to the garage wall

These bolts are sold as "Heavy Duty" and "a secure hold for Industrial and DIY Projects!"They are in fact made of such inferior materials that they are unsuitable for the purpose sold, i.e. the thin metal used for the outer casing is too flimsy to expand and make the fixing secure, as the attached pictures explain.This makes the bolts potentially dangerous as any heavy item fixed by them is likely to come adrift, which could be extremly dangerous should the item fall on children or anyone else. I purchased them for an extending TV wall bracket, but luckily noticed that they were not gripping as they should.Amazon should not be selling such inferior products and this may be of interest to Trading Standards, Advertising Standards, and the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS, the national regulator for consumer products). There are a number of sellers offering these inferior bolts on Amazon, and they should be removed from sale.

Did the job but not as well as hoped.

Good strong bolts for and upgrade from the plastic plugs.

Don't bother they are utter rubbish. Refuse to tighten as there is nothing on the expansion nut to grip the hole. The metal is so soft I don't expect it to last long at all.
