Good product, but only with foam replacement tips
First, with the factory silicone tips I'd rate the ZS10 as 2 or 3 stars. I used the factory tips for just 15 minutes, and they were awful. The tone was extremely bright, cold, and analytical. To bring up the bass and balance out the profile, I used memory foam tips that fully seal the ear canal. I'm using this product (12 tips for about $7.00 on Amazon):RIYO Replacement Eartips Earbuds Tips Memory Foam Earbuds for 5mm-7mm Earphone Nozzles Black S/M/L -12pcsAs a hybrid IEM with 4 balanced armature (BA) and one dynamic driver, these headphones have a split personality:- The mids and highs are extremely precise, clear, and localized. The imaging is great and compares well versus headphones/IEMs that cost several hundred dollars.- The volume is boosted in the upper mid range (e.g., voices, violins, brass), but not in a harsh or unpleasant fashion.- While bright, they do not cause me fatigue. I can listen for hours (and I'm sensitive/picky about the high end). The comfort seems to follow from the response profiles of the BA drivers.- The upper bass region is loud, but the dynamic driver doesn't match the performance of the 4 BAs. The mids remain detailed down to low guitar notes, but then soften and become boomy with bass guitars, drums, and low pitched electronica. There's a definite "one note" character whereby the lows sound largely the same. In comparison with audiophile-grade headphones they have little deep bass. They just suggest what lies below.- The cable is functional and I see no reason to replace it. The wire ear hooks work great. Oddly, it's split for 2 feet by design (i.e., merges at my navel).- The plastic shells are light and fit my ears comfortably (with foam tips).Overall: I rated these 4 stars because the mid and high details are fantastic for the money (or for any price)--and new tips resolve other weaknesses. The BA drivers are far less boxy and congested than typical single dynamic driver IEMs. And, I greatly prefer these over one of my much more expensive sets of IEMs.

Sounds great, one build issue so far...
I have really been enjoying these IEMs as they sound much more expensive than they are. I bought these to replace a pair of Audio-Technica IEMs since the left channel completely died—granted those earbuds were about 4 years old. A large part of why I bought the KZ ZS10s is because I usually kill earbuds very quickly, and the replaceable cable was a big selling point so if one of the channels died on me again I could just get a new cable assuming the earphone itself wasn't the issue. However, the tips these came with did not fit my ears at all, so I bought some 3rd party tips from Amazon. When I put the tip on the left earpiece, it must have bumped into the metal grill in the nozzle and dislodged it. Not sure if I just got a bad earpiece, but the grill should not be dislodged that easily from a flimsy piece of silicone. It's a bit concerning since the grill is supposed to stop debris/wax from entering the housing. Also, if I left it alone, who knows if the grill would fully dislodge and go into my ear canal...Luckily, I was able to use tweezers to get the grill out of the nozzle and reseat it. Nothing is really holding it in, though, aside from the relatively tight fit in the nozzle itself... Hopefully it doesn't dislodge again. It's really a shame, because otherwise this really would have been 5-stars for me. The music reproduction is great across all frequencies and handles pretty much any genre I throw at it. I've listened to everything from Hans Zimmer soundtracks, to Adele, to Soundgarden, to Immolation and these IEMs didn't skip a bear. There are very few things that wouldn't sound great on these. But the grill dislodging is concerning, and it makes me think what other build issues might crop up in the future.I honestly would still buy these again though. I doubt it will come loose again unless I bumped into it or something, and would still recommend these to anyone who wants a well rounded IEM without spending a ton of cash.

Blegh sound, poor fit and isolation.
I'm a pro audio guy thats tried probably 30 IEM's/Chifi headphones over the last few months. These don't sound good. These are a mess tonally, I really couldn't use them much since the sound was so poor. I had hoped they would fit like the AS10 which was, by FAR, the best fitting KZ I've tried which drastically increased isolation. However, these are quite thick and therefore don't allow for a very deep seating in the ear canal.Poor treble, bloated bass, messy mids - an old KZ design that probably shouldn't be sold anymore. Here's the thing with multiple drivers, every driver/armature you add also adds a crossover point and unless those are tuned well, every crossover location will have a very odd sound - you'll "hear" the energy thats supposed to be there but without any tonal clarity. For example, at, say 120Hz, you'll hear the energy of 80 and 140 but you won't hear the tonality of 120. It takes a lot of work to tune multi-driver headphones (or luck in KZ's case) and since the marketplace is essentially KZ's R&D department, we simply have to wait and keep trying to see if they go in the right direction. Also, because of this marketplace R&D, most KZ designs are moving in the same direction - more bass and highs. Its unfortunate but it seems to be the trend. I can't recommend these on any grounds.

Best bang for the buck!
These monitors are amazing but.... do yourself a favor and go ahead and order the Comply Isolation Tips with these. The silicone tips that come with these are junk and do not stay in the ear canal and allow so much background noise in, the true sound is not heard. WITH the Comply tips, these sound absolutely fantastic. And that is coming from a bass player who uses them on stage. Clear mids, highs, and plenty of bass. I'm amazed that they pack in so much quality into a low cost item. They are a little large so if you have small(ish) ears, you may have an issue but these are going to work for most people. If these last for a year or two, I have no problems with ordering a second set. These sound better than the Shure's and just as good as the molds that I have at a fraction of the cost.
