Okay.... I actually purchased this just for the metal container, which is beautiful. I recently got an expensive set of pure pigment watercolors, 36 colors total, and was having a hard time finding a container I liked enough to put them inside. I had already purchased some empty half pans with magnets so was looking for something metal. I purchased and tried a few different things but returned them because they either didn't fit the half pans correctly, or the layout wasn't ideal (I didn't need attached mixing areas which would take up desk space). I kept seeing this set and loved the container but it felt like a waste to buy it just for that.... however, I finally did and I am extremely happy! At around 17 dollars it was close to the same price, or cheaper, than some of the other options I tried but this came with some nice extras like water brushes (I've never tried one before and was always curious). The container itself is very sturdy with great latches and it lays completely flat when fully open. Each side is more than deep enough for my half pans, and when placed close together can each hold 48 half pans! That's 96 total if you want to use both sides! I haven't decided yet if I want to use both sides, but there is plenty of depth for it and you can use the included plastic tray to divide them or add something of your own. If you use both sides it's probably better to leave this on its side when closed so none of the dried paints are upside down, or maybe just get a piece of metal to use as a layer you can place on top of the bottom one and then move to the side when you paint.I'm so happy this fits all 36 of my pure pigment watercolors (in half pans), and with enough room to space them out in a way that lets me read what each color is as I sit at my desk to paint. I like knowing there's still plenty of room for more paints too, which I might need if I decide to buy a few more pigments, or to mix up some pigments in one pan so I can get new colors easier without mixing them each time in my palette. As said, the container is really well made, sturdy, and gorgeous. Everything was packaged well and looked pretty so this would make a great gift. The included paintbrushes seem adequate, if perhaps a little cheap (one of mine had a wobbly connection). I am looking forward to trying the water brushes, and it's nice that a small sponge and watercolor paper chart for the paints are included. I haven't tried the paints, but they look nice for the price and I'll probably keep them for random sketches or give them to someone else. Since there is no lightfast rating for any of the colors I wouldn't use the paints for anything serious, but just for fun is fine. Overall, it's a great set!

The colors in the set are quite vivid. Most of them were very opaque. I was surprised because most watercolor sets have thin paint but the color was really vibrant and rich. My only complaint was that the color tabs were small, but because the color is so saturated you wouldn’t have to use as much paint. Also, as many other reviewers pointed out I also loved the color watch print included in the set so you know exactly how the colors will be behave.

So many colors to choose from. Nice tin. So far the paints are lovely and fun to experiment with. Good value. Glazing 9layering) makes the colors really vibrant, and the blank swatch card really helps see what the colors are like.

A very nice quality, good pigment, well packaged set. Way nicer than I thought it was going to be. Like the addition of the brushes.

This is good value for money .the color selection is good and they blend well together .I think this would work well for beginners and children and the added brushes make starting new with watercolor easy .The box is compact and the size makes it easily transportable for classes while giving optimal color selection.

I found for the price this is a wonderful assortment of colors and comes with muliple brushes to help with the painting projects, great deal and they shipped it fast!

Intense pigments. I enjoyed using these paints for the first time. I recommend them. I wish they would state about their lightfastness. Worth the money.

I purchased this watercolor set for my five year-old granddaughter who loves to paint. I was amazed at the quality of these watercolors. The colors are beautiful and vibrant. This would make a great gift for anyone who loves to paint. I will definitely be buying these again.
