This air horn is crazy loud. It's a great value for the money for what it does. It's pretty compact and very easy to use. It works exactly as designed. Don't use it next to someone's head as it'll definitely hurt their ears. Use it in the fashion It's designed to use it for, it's not a toy.

This air horn only let's out short blasts, but it's verry loud

This horn comes in two pieces: a canister with a spring-reset plunger, and the horn part. Screw the horn onto the end of the canister, extend the plunger, and it's ready to use.You cave to get a certain air speed to have the horn make any noise - i.e. you can slowly advance the plunger and have it remain silent. Once you pass that speed threshold, however, it gets LOUD. Like you should wear earplugs loud. The pitch is somewhere around an E5 (musically) or if you think of one of those old-style bike horns, where you squeeze the bulb and it honks, that will give you an approximation of this horn. You get about 1 to 1.5 seconds of sound before you have to plunge again. But you can do this fast and repeatedly.It's small, light, and works well. I think it's a good value at this price.

I followed all of the instructions, and it worked 3 times then didn't work anymore. I am returning this, and I am NOT getting a replacement. This cannot be trusted. It was a good idea if it works.

After seeing my first big coyote on the trail this past week, I polled my NextDoor hiking community as to how to handle wildlife on the trail. The consensus was to "make a lot of noise". Well, I know I have been unable to even scream in stressful situations, so I settled on an air horn. When this one popped up on my Amazon search, I thought it would be perfect -- and it truly is. It's light, it doesn't require an expendable product like the cannister of compressed air, and IT IS LOUD!!!! I will have to figure out how to affix it to the outside of my backpack, tho, because the horn is light plastic and is the most likely part to bust. Besides the fact that I don't need to be rustling through my pack looking for my "weapon"!

The media could not be loaded. This is well made, assembles pretty much instantly, but it's nice that you can store it smaller, and it works easily. The only downside is that you can only do very short blasts. But it would definitely be more helpful than having a can of dead air on the boat when you go to use it.Horn is loud, but maybe not quite as loud as compressed air.
