Excellent vegetarian and vegan book
I thought that Moosewood recipes (and books) couldn't get any better after "Simple Suppers" but I was wrong. This is another excellent book of theirs! Not only the recipes looks delicious (haven't tried them yet), but this time they put an emphasis on healthy (yes, just plain vegetarian or vegan doesn't equal to healthy necesarily) and did they ever do a good job. On top of all their delicious recipes there is also a lot of information about the ingredients and such.I have a hard time good vegetarian books, they either give the same old vegetarian recipes you already know or go all fancy and use hard to get (and expensive) ingredients. Well, not this book. And not only that, but in their introduction they guide you on how to make variations when not everything is available in your pantry.I would recommend this book to anyone out there (even if not vegetarian) who loves to make good food and likes to eat healthy.Oh, yes, and something else that I love about the Moosewood books, and this one is not the exception, is the fact that they suggest what menu would go well with each dish.

Moosewood Cookbook scores!
The Moosewood Restaurant Cooking for Health is a great source for vegan and vegetarian recipes that taste great. I have the old classic "The Enchanted Broccoli Forest" and have loved it, but there is not a lot of vegan recipes, though vegetarian recipes abound. In this book vegan recipes are abundant, and the layout of the book is much more professional. There is a good introduction of about 35 pages with lots of tips, and well laid out recipes and cooking tips for each recipe. Altogether, this book was excellent for us who just switched over to veganliving. The only caveat is I miss the charm of Mollies illustrations and handwritten recipes. There are NO illustrations of what you are cooking in this book.

Amazing
I own very few cookbooks because generally speaking I think I can do just as well online and there's never really enough in any one cookbook I want to try. This is such an exception, from first flipping through it there were so many great recipes, and now that I own it time after time I'm so happy I bought it. In fact, after making the New World Pizza, I immediately emailed the person who had introduced me to the book to thank him, it was just so good. This book is a great introduction to vegetarian cooking, though be warned that some of the recipes are pretty time consuming to prepare (worth it of course though).

Moosewood Restaurant Cooking For Health
Lots of good recipes. My only criticism is that there were more than enough Tofu recipes. I rarely use my oven once Summer rolls around and a significant amount of recipes were utilizing an oven. However, Moosewood Rest. Cooking for Health will be one of my "go to" cookbooks as it has good information as well as delightful recipes. I highly recommend it as a starting point for eating healthy.

Love this book!
I like the way the cookbook is laid out and written. The instructions are clear and the ingredients are not exotic and hard to find, yet there is still a great variety of recipes. I especially like the suggestions for variations and for serving and menu ideas. I'm the first to admit that I'm not a very imaginative menu planner, and so many other cookbooks leave you with delicious recipes that you don't really know what to combine with other foods. I got the book at the library first and decided I really had to have it. All the recipes I've tried so far are great. I'm trying to eat a vegan diet, and even though many of the recipes are vegetarian, they are easy to adapt.

Gotta have it!!
I checked this book out at the library. I had to buy it. Its normal food for Vegetarians. Not weird ingredients. I am a new Vegetarian and use to normal foods. This is perfect. It even makes suggests of things to go along with that item to make a complete meal. Lots of handy reference info as well. I love Moosewood cookbooks. This is one of my favorites of theirs. Be sure to check out their other ones as well. If you are a Vegan, this book makes suggestions on how to alter recipes to make Vegan. I have looked at so many Veg. cookbooks as I have made this change in our family's diet. This is a favorite!

Some simple recipes..some complex
So I had tried Moosewood's sweet potato recipe from the web and after being super impressed went on to buy this book. However I notice that some ingredients are absolutely unknown to me.Never heard of.. Hence some recipes will be difficult as you would have to research those ingredients (e.g. Miso paste, hominy a.k.a coarse ground maize etc). Another drawback is that the book does not contain pictures. Some recipes are rather too simple like Guacamole. Who wants to know about Guacamole? Good thing is in the breakfast section, they have some different egg recipes like 'Migas' and some good burger recipes.

Perfect vegetarian cook book
We're not vegetarians but we only eat meat once or twice a week. I borrowed this cookbook from the library and I had to own it. The recipes are easy and well presented. There is a variety of cuisines and meal types- soups, stews, burgers, pastas, etc., along with menu suggestions. Most of the recipes produce more than 4 servings so we have leftovers to take for lunch. The recipes use a wide variety of vegetables and grains and don't rely too much on eggs and cheese. In hardcover, this would make a great housewarming or bridal shower gift

love this book!
The book was in new condition, however, the cover paper was cut a little wrong, a little too short of covering the white pages of the interior. I am keeping the book, however, I believe in higher standards of craftsmanship and hope not to see similar errors in future orders.

Moosewood does it again
Have several Moosewoods going back to 1989. Most are essential for any veggie cook. The recipes all allow for some changes if you haven't got all the ingredients in the cupboard. I've used their recipes for years for home and professional cooking. This one is good for me though as a lot of the 'old' recipes use a lot of cheese and I no longer eat it though there are still a number of 'cheesey' recipes! Many recipes have already become a regular on the menu.

This set of Moosewood cookbooks are brilliant, the recipes are excellent, and I'm looking forward to using them. The books are in great condition, at a great price, and arrived ahead of time, which I was very pleased with. I would definitely recommend this seller, and order from this seller again.

This is my favourite vegetarian cookbook
This is my favourite vegetarian cookbook. I like the way they recommend other recipes that go with the one you're thinking of making. Also, I get the feeling these recipes have been well tested in the restaurant, because they taste great and always work well.
