Received the P51 Whistle and just let me say that this new whistle is by far a million times better than the Fox40 I've been using. The sound is crisp and loud but doesn't hurt my ears at all and the cushion is very comfortable. This must be due to their design of aiming down and in, not up and out like normal whistles. Genius. After watching their video with Gene Steratore from the NFL I had no idea how much spit I was blowing in the air. My Mother's in her 70's and goes to all of my games w her friends w/ floor seats and knowing this whistle is safer makes me feel better. Comes with a lanyard, too. Will def be buying more.

The Protector Whistle P51 was a gift for an official, it was the best gift I could get him. He uses it regularly for his officiating in football and basketball. The sound as expected is load and powerful. Definitely recommend for any official. The lanyard is an added plus. Plus the safety to others around him is a huge plus.

I have been using the Protector Whistle for a while now & fully support it 100%. No questions!! It truly is the best whistle available out there with all of its benefits! You simply should not go without it. Highly recommended!

The Protector Whistle is designed specifically with the vents on the underside, instead of over, which is supposed to be more hygenic since saliva and germs aren't sprayed everywhere (though I think they still will be, it's just they'll hit your neck first).The concept works, but you will feel hot air and spit on your neck. If you don't like that feeling, don't get it.As for sound, it seems loud enough, but I haven't been able to test it against the Famous Fox40 Pealess Whistle.Oh, and just food for thought, if you turn a standard fox40 whistle upside down, the vents will point downward and won't really shower spit everywhere. Most coaches already do that. I'm not sure if the P51 would be any different from that.

This whistle has a great sound and is very comfortable in your mouth. Really like the safety aspect! Would highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. New design whistle Vine review. Brand: THE PROTECTOR WHISTLE. At first glance, I just saw a whistle with a soft, removable, cleanable, mouthpiece. That was good enough for me, but they add on:1. Soft removable cleanable mouthpiece.2. The output, including spittle, is directed down, to the user’s feet/chest. In these days of illnesses caught by exhaled vapors/mist typical in a sneeze, it’s a no brainer to stop blowing the same vapors/mist in sports. duh. going out 5-6 feet! See attached photo turned sideways for cell phones.3. The breakaway lanyard for neck safety.There is no ball in the unit, so the sound is distinctively different. And that could have been #4, but just as many will probably miss that. And with this size, I’m pretty sure this isn’t the loudest of whistles, but it is loud enough. I purposely blew it moderately for the attached video, to avoid blasting your neighbors as you play this sample. (Been there, heard that, too many times.)It’s an easy 5 star for the price, and the hygiene.Tip: you may find 5 colors if you search.I initially suspected they named if for the P51 Mustang, where some of them were based in China during parts of WWII. So I did confirm the name does come from that plane. That most awesome plane ever, if you ever saw it fly up close, and perhaps touched one, as I did, as a child. Nice uniform sound. I like this whistle over every other whistle I've had over the years as a student supervisor. It doesn't hurt my ears either and students can hear it well.
